So yeah Billy Bob, lets put aside your fairly successful acting career and lets talk about your crappy musical career...haha. Does this dude know which side his bread is buttered on? (oops, ended a sentence with a proposition....sorry Miss Gumar)

That would be "preposition", or was that a pun I missed?

:p

Just heard that Mr. Thornton has canceled the rest of the Canadian tour. So take that, you boring Canucks. You will now be deprived of being able to see his wonderfulness, because you had the nerve to boo him.

Oh well.......

Damn. My day is ruined now.:-:)lol:

I've never seen that one before. Is that the one where he plays the mentally challenged fellow?

It is indeed and a great flick. You would like it I think. John Ritter co-starred and Lucus Black turned in a fine performance for a youngster.

Thornton wrote, directed and starred in the movie. Won an Oscar for his role and an Acadamy Award for screen writing.

While the plot is a serious movie, there are some pretty damn funny spots in it. Worth renting for sure.

Oscars and Academy awards are the same thing, and he has just the one for best screen play. He was nominated for best actor, but didn't win it.

I'll have to see if it is at Blockbuster. I am also a John Ritter fan so that is an added bonus.

You know I just happened to find it one night on pay per view or something and thought I would check it out. Thoroughly enjoyed it and bought a dvd for my collection. If you didn't know it was Thornton, you wouldn't know it's him right off.

Dwight Yokum plays the antagonist quite well too.

Oscars are campaigned for like political ridings. Pretty much whoever advertises the most and best wins. The People's Choice Awards, on the other hand, are not so much like that.

This is true. I think in conjunction with Cannes and the Toronto Film Festival, you can get a pretty good idea of the dogs and the gems. Of course tase is objective so the only true test of a film is to watch it and make the call yourself.

Yeah, you're right, 'on' is a preposition. It was a mis-spelling on my part. But Miss Gumar was a sweet young immigrant from the far east and she molded my young mind back in the '70's. A proposition would not have been far from my mind back in that day...:lol::lol:
