Geezuz Les, bone infection sounds painful. Hope she makes a full recovery. Best to Anna and you for the new year. Miss her wisdom on here.
awesome and kudos to you!!!!Some truly god news for one of our neighbours last night. After far too big a christmas supper and the kids had left for home the pager went off. CHimney fire about 1Km from the hall. We were able to save the house with no more damage than needing to replace the chimney and some pride.
Just a reminder to everyone that burns wood to check your chimney.
what a hell of a way to end one's life...alive and yet dead...glad your son could bring some joy to their world ♦Took my 17 year old to visit his oma (my mom) and he played some German Christmas carol tunes for her on his violin. Oma is a long-term care resident because of her dementia and many of her peers are much worse off than she is. The common area was filled with residents mumbling to themselves or just sitting quietly in their wheelchairs staring at the TV or the aquarium or off into space, some others were just wandering the common area lost in their own world. As soon as he started playing things changed; almost all started to sing along and in a few different languages, the wanderers stopped wandering and started singing, too. The PSW's joined in and the dementia choir made quite a performance. As soon as my son stopped his playing the non-speakers became mute again, the wanders wandered and the mumblers mumbled. All in all a great visit.
wonderful...and welcome to the forum by the way...I hope you can tolerate us long enough to stay for a bit (we are becoming a bit too inbred)... we are a motley crew but most here if not all have good heartsThis year I abstained from parties as only way of being "one" with the Haiyan victims who are mostly the people from the province I came from. The good news is friends continue giving me gifts, workmates pledged with used clothings and utensils (for the typhoon victims) and the best thing was coming from a friend in Switzerland who raised funds (through baking) so we can have a 2nd round of relief goods to distribute on my 2nd homecoming this January. This year has been very different for me. I spent my 30th birthday while stranded on the road for 3 days and I was handpicked for a promotion which I could have gotten long ago if only I applied for it. So many blessings, too many good news. At the end of it all, I still believe that everything is just under what our perspectives are. *beauty queen waive then the cliche "world peace"![]()
great, glad to have you here...we have a few game threads here but we haven't played for a while and they are a sideline not the bulk of the discussion...Thank you Sal! I like to read through the exchange of ideas no matter how funny or serious posts could be. I think I like this better than Facebook. I just searched on Google coz I miss forums. Won't fit with forums where people only talk about games, you know. Glad to meet you all!
Yeah, it's cool to see dynamics, if you wanna put it that way. I'm learning, entertained and is having a good time while *you know the TV is playing in the background. LMAO!
