It still exists and always will.


The question at hand though relates to the fundamental assumptions of the global warming crowd... things like the notion that water vapor is by far and away the single largest factor in the GHG equation, but it's kinda tough to implement a financial penalty or get the willfully ignorant all up in arms over water... The solution is to highly exaggerate or outright manufacture a villian to arouse the low-info demographic into action



Enter carbon (CO2)... This is an easier target as the marketing dept can associate that with pollution/emissions but once again, the willfully ignorant decide to ignore the reality that we (as are most life forms on Earth) are - wait for it - carbon based.


This is not to suggest that conservation and anti pollution measures aren't of great value, but your run-of-the-mill ecotard finds it convenient to flip from one to the other when they are shown the factual evidence.

A Climate Alarmist Sued A Skeptic For Defamation... And Lost



The Supreme Court of British Columbia recently dismissed a defamation lawsuit by celebrity climate scientist Dr. Michael Mann against global warming skeptic climatologist Dr. Tim Ball. Mann must pay the full legal costs to the defendant. The ruling is explosive because it means that Ball’s claim that Mann was a scientific fraudster is now supported by the court.



In 1999, Mann published a 1000-year-long global temperature reconstruction from tree rings that severely undercut the then-accepted knowledge of climate. IPCC’s 1995 Second Assessment Report acknowledged that it was warmer during the Medieval Warm Period than today and that a significant cooling called the Little Ice Age followed and lasted until the end of the 19th century.

Mann’s reconstruction demolished that view and replaced our climate history with something that looks like a hockey stick: For 900 years, the temperature was a slightly falling straight line and then, during the period of human activity, rapid warming in the 20th century.

Climate catastrophists immediately seized on this persuasive graph and made Mann the poster boy of the IPCC, which was now thoroughly controlled by radical greens appointed by leftist politicians.

Cold weather kills 20 times as many people as hot weather, according to an international study analyzing over 74 million deaths in 384 locations across 13 countries. The findings, published in The Lancet, also reveal that deaths due to moderately hot or cold weather substantially exceed those resulting from extreme heat waves or cold spells.

"It's often assumed that extreme weather causes the majority of deaths, with most previous research focusing on the effects of extreme heat waves," says lead author Dr Antonio Gasparrini from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in the UK. "Our findings, from an analysis of the largest dataset of temperature-related deaths ever collected, show that the majority of these deaths actually happen on moderately hot and cold days, with most deaths caused by moderately cold temperatures."

The study analysed over 74 million (74,225,200) deaths between 1985 and 2012 in 13 countries with a wide range of climates, from cold to subtropical.

TASMANIA’S RECORD COLD AUGUST: DEVONPORT EQUALS LOWEST-AVERAGE-MONTHLY-MINIMUM — MOUNT READ EXPERIENCES COLDEST MONTH FOR 21 YEARS

Thermometers plunged across Tasmania last month with a number of locations either busting or equaling long-standing low temperature records. And looking at latest GFS runs, there’s a lot more of that anomalous cold on the way as Australia enters September and meteorological spring.

Devonport, located on Tasmania’s north coast, where the Mersey River meets Bass Strait, equaled its coldest-ever August minimum avg. temp last month, with 3.5C (38.3F) observed at its airport, the city’s official measuring station.

After checking data from the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), the only other time the mercury has averaged a reading that low in the month of August was back in 2015.

For reference, Devonport AP’s August avg. min stands at 5C (41F).

The BOM have also noted that NW Tasmania experienced much cooler-than-average days throughout August, adding that the nights were also cold — overall, the average temperature across the NW was some 0.22C below August’s monthly mean.
