The debate about climate change is finished - because it has been categorically proved NOT to exist, one of the world's best known climate change sceptic has claimed.

I have studied climate change seriously for years. It has become a political and environment agenda item, but the science is not valid --John Coleman, co-founder of the Weather Channel
The climate is changing. It is observable, it is irrefutable. The causes are multidimensional, sun, Earth, pollution, human activity, etc. You can't dump millions of tons of toxins into the environment on a daily basis and expect that there will not be consequences. That is just stupid and ignorant.

You might want to listen to Cliffy on this subject, Walter. The sun has quite a bit to do with it but so have a multitude of other factors. Mother Nature does quite a bit of evening up from time to time. Let's hope it's enough!

Yup. Mother nature sheds herself of whole categories of species all the time ... Graptolites, dinosaurs, trilobytes, tabulate corals, conodonts, Ammonites, Humans ...

Standing afar off for the fear of her torment,
saying,
Alas,
alas,
that great city Babylon,
that mighty city!
for in one hour is thy judgment come.
And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her;
for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
The merchandise of gold,
and silver,
and precious stones,
and of pearls,
and fine linen,
and purple,
and silk,
and scarlet,
and all thyine wood,
and all manner vessels of ivory,
and all manner vessels of most precious wood,
and of brass,
and iron,
and marble,
And cinnamon,
and odours,
and ointments,
and frankincense,
and wine,
and oil,
and fine flour,
and wheat,
and beasts,
and sheep,
and horses,
and chariots,
and slaves,
and souls of men.

China, India and many other countries are planting millions of trees to offset the climate changing.

How are the trees going to fix the Sun
The best thing anyone could do about climate change is to be prepared, we can,t eat trees ferfuksake

Cliffy you are comparing apples to oranges, our environment, human pollution to solar output, two entirely different problems for mankind. One we can fix as you suggest and the other which we can just hide from. I,m certainly interested in a clean planet filled with life but the power that rules is that Sun and solar cycles are relativly frequent according to fossile records etc. Those trees you mentioned should be selected for colder climes. Humanity is in a race to death if not pollution certainly the Sun. Check up on global crop losses for the last three years or so. Starvation will get us long before the plastics.

I think PEI got potatoe problems again this year, it,s still wet here.
The potatoes from everywhere are crap, right now. Both the Manitoba and PEI crops got pretty much wiped out, last season. Cut them open and more than half of them are black, inside.

Just had a mess of potatoes last night, scalloped, they were great.

Actually, we can. The cambium layer of many trees are edible, rich in vitamins and minerals. And of course, fruit from trees, sap (maple and birch). Trees give us Oxygen too. You can't breath without trees. If there is an ice age coming, then dig your home into the earth.

fire up an airtight heater and this place is toasty at -45 -50

I can believe that. I just looked up the weather stats for Vernon in the weather records for April. April 2016 was very warm with a mean temp of 12.6 C. The years following that and 2015 had mean April temps well under 9C. Feb. 2019 was the coldest Feb. on record in Vernon. March was cold as well.

It's for the shade. At the rate the rain-forest is coming down that might well account for any CO2 rise over the last few 100 years. It is rising because fewer plants are alive to stop the rise
