Yeah, it's called Barrie News.
Highway Thru Hell ranks among Discovery’s Top 5 programs, and has made TV stars of people like Jamie Davis, who runs a towing operation in Hope, British Columbia. The most recent episode recorded more than a million viewers in a single week. That’s a massive audience for a specialty channel.
Heavy Rescue: 401 takes a slightly different approach to Highway Thru Hell and will focus on a broad array of teams including Ontario Provincial Police, Ontario Ministry of Transportation enforcement personnel, York Regional Police, road maintenance teams, the Compass Center, and other groups as they focus on keeping highways open for business. “You realize the stakes are huge,” Miller says. “We had no lack of content.”

But it isn't the only hiway in the snow news.
In this case, Barrie gets the snow mix from the rise of air caused by the Niagara escarpment where the ski hills are. Which is why we don't get much of that on the actual FLAT shore of the lakes.
WE get the LOWER temperatures though, just like Barrie does, and Toronto and JOKEVILLE do not.

Every time we get a snowfall here I check the weather radar and it generally seems that the source is all the great lakes, even if the surface or ground level winds come from east north or west....Strange ain't it??In our case, the temperature is low enough that we keep the snow we get (dependent on the jet stream location ), but Toronto gets a MODERATED temp effect year round because of it's location re the great lakes, which means rain more than snow, and it doesn't make for a real winter there.
Just look at their snow removal plan - things like expenses/ per area, and their basic snow removal equipment/ per area. They need the military to come in for a real storm.
Not to mention the ice we have, which is necessary to get to the non drive in shoreline cottage areas from here.
WE do get some "lake effect" snow, but most of it is also triggered by land fall, and falls SOUTH of my part of the bay. Most of our snow this year is from south western storms that were dumping lots of snow well to that side of the lakes,long before they even get here.

My father and one of his brothers were Saskatchewan tractor jockys who ended up being pilots ... him and about 25,000 others.
I don't have a Tractor, but someone actually trusted me enough to play with one of these for a few years (& even paid me to do so) before my Girlfriend told me it was time to come home for good:
