Not that I believe ANY of the predictions made by the scientific elite, the high priests of the New Religion, as it were.....but:

According to an article I read, the flow south of cold water from melting northern icecap will redirect the northern flow of the Gulf Stream out into the mid-Atlantic before it reaches eastern Canada, preventing its warming influence here and in the British Isles.

In other words, the Maritimes are one of only two places on earth expected to get significantly colder due to global warming.......

Have a nice day. :)

Thanks. I have to get someone to grand bay tomorrow for a 7:30am practice.

Thanks a lot. Why don't you meet me at the toll booth with a large?

So seize the property of private owners...return it to the "community" to be represented by the State (I suppose)... a Revolution?

A modern peasant/worker revolution? And then all work work for the greater good...a Worker's paradise established.

…unless you prefer dying as a loner during a war (over natural resources).

Awesome, a frozen Bay of Fundies and Gulp of St. Larry.

Seriously, I think I'd rather move north if the Maritimes gets colder (I've heard winters can be irritating back east).

39 pages i dont have time to read but i'll assume Mr Gores an "inconvenient truth" has been discussed and probably trashed into oblivion, not sure why every one is so against the gist of his research and conclusions , is there any one out there who might agree with his stance? and we are in some way contributing to a very large environmental impact on the worlds ecology?be a shame to call all this science and research "BS" and then our children discover too late that he was in fact on the right path all along.

Back in the mid seventies the science world was telling us there was an ice age coming, then all of a sudden there was a hot sunny day and someone said, oh
the world is warming. The truth was the ground hog saw his shadow and there
was an early spring. For heavens sake we hear everyday, that a new temp
record for heat or cold was broken. That of course means it was seriously
hot or cold at some other time in the past. I wouldn't say there is no problem,
as we know there is a lot of pollution pumped into the air everyday. Some of
that pollution is from natural sources some from industry. We should use wise
practices, but if we think we can actually change the worlds climate by adopting
new policies, to correct past ills we are surely dreaming. To think we can restore
the world with our good works is the height of arrogance, we are not that smart.

There are more accurate things to pay attention to than Gore's 2 bits worth.

We've learned a bit more about climate since the 70s. Besides that, would it hurt to quit crapping in our crib? It's cheaper in the long run to be clean anyway.

CO2 is clean.

If that was the only crap that we put out into the atmosphere and water, I would agree. But it isn't and that is what we need to address. We are crapping in our crib and to expect that the millions of tons of crap we dump into our environment won't come back to haunt us is just naive. Whether we are the cause of GW or not is a non issue. That we are destroying our life support system is the real issue and we had better clean up our act or future generations will not be able to live here.

With the exponential increase is respiratory and other chronic diseases and the mass extinction of hundreds of species, to ignore our impact on the environment could be fatal. But what the hell, who cares about future generations anyway? We want all this useless crap now. The future is their problem!

This thread is about AGW not pollution.

There is no evidence of this.
Yeah, right. You just choose to ignore the FACT that pollution causes damage.

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) - Cfcs And Ozone Destruction, Chemical Activity Of Cfcs, Ozone "hole" And Other Cfc Environmental Effects

CFC's and Ozone Depletion

And yes, an overabundance of something naturally occurring CAN be a pollutant. You like water? Fill up your lungs with it and then tell me it doesn't pollute your lungs. Replace the air in your car with CO2 and then tell me you can breath well.
