Yes, sex IS just sex. I don't think you're right to say that it's about power and control but whatever.
Yes it's amazing how some people can be so blatantly wrong yet still somehow believe they are right.
Especially when you conveniently leave off the part where the poster you are replying to said nothing about a ceremony and was instead talking about the legal status. But it's not really a surprise you'd need to heavily edit in order to have something to reply to, you are the King of Cut & Paste after all.
That would be a matter of opinion.
IMO, 5 has a LOT of growing up to do still.
Interesting, where in this whole thread did I say I disagree with same sex couples... where..
I stated that I don't agree in a double standard.. Gays want respect for what they believe, and Christians what respect for what they believe... which is Homosexuality is a sin and it is damaging the moral fabric of the USA.
Should we not respect both views equally? However, you keep saying that the Christian view is racist or bigoted.
That's just the way those people want to live, Christians that is..
I say anyone who denies the Christians their point of view and way of life is just as bigoted.
Just watch out for the gay mafia, you cross them you'll get whacked, spanked, maybe even sodomized.
It's not the parade that bugs me. Its the assumption that anybody who does not attend must be a homophobe and/or a bigot. Like the countless stories of non-attendance by the Mayor of Toronto for example. If he is at his cottage, he is at his cottage. Attendance by anybody should not be mandatory.
This is exactly what I was talking about in that quote. It is asinine to equate people simply being who they are with another group actively attacking another group and truing to prevent them from gaining equal rights.
The gay community doesn't go out and tell people that marrying someone of the opposite sex is wrong, that they are hurting america, and that what they are doing should be illegal. They are telling people that they just want the same rights that everyone else has.
Lol, you realize this is a joke, right?
Lots of people disagree with the firefox thing. I disagree with that, but it has nothing to do with anything special about the gay community. People are very reactive against any basic human rights issue. You saw the same thing with Donald Sterling.
With Mozilla, it wasn't "the gay mafia" that took him down, it was the internet mafia. The internet is a great echo chamber for ideas to get out of hand very very quickly. Just look at how many people the internet convicted of the Boston Bombings in the hours after it happened and how that negatively effected some people. The people who care about Mozilla are all disproportionately involved in internet issues and that allowed that to get out of hand very very quickly.
Well, on the Rob Ford front, we all know that his problems with homosexual people go way way beyond just not wanting to go to the parade.
But as the mayor of Toronto, you are the representative of the city. When you attend pretty much every other cultural event in the city, but refuse to attend one specific one every year, it is an obvious snub against that community.
And lets be clear, it isn't like his cottage thing is a real excuse. Pride is a week long event and he has refused to attend a single event within that week ever despite countless invitations. All he has done is shown up unannounced a few times at the flag raising that happens to be 10 feet from his office.
Considering this is Canada, tell me what "rights" gays don't have? I'll tell you what "rights" it appears Christians and Christian institutions don't have after you tell me what rights gays don't have.
Which they have. People can mouth off all they want. It doesn't take anything away from anyone. What is disgusting, is the fact that people are losing their jobs and lively hoods for voicing their opinions and beliefs. That is no different than a LGBT losing their job and livleyhood because of who they are, and here you and paradox are cheering that on. Hypocrites.
and the "gay community" has the right to not vote for him. Attacking him for what he does and doesn't do, is again, being hypocritical.
That is wrong. The other end of the spectrum is being straight, being homophobic is a completely unrelated issue of bigotry and intolerance.
as is the anti Christian theme running through the LGBT groups and their supporters,.
Lol, what does that even mean?
If Christian people decide that their faith means they have to be against gay people, then does that mean that simply being gay and wanting rights makes you inherently anti Christian?
What "anti christian" things have you seen? Was any of it not directly connected to those Christians speaking out against other groups or fighting to limit the rights of other groups?
It means exactly what I wrote. You have comprehension problems?
Doesn't matter if they are 'minor' and have 'few adherents'. They're religions and just as legitimate as the "big three". This statement pretty much proves how much of holier than thou (no pun) a**hole you are.
... don't answer that.

Obviously you don't live here. You are no longer aloud to say this publicly in Canada as a politician. It's frowned upon in most circles I associate as well, for reasons other than political correctness. Why should a Christian country like Canada,
Modern day christians have a lot of hoops to jump through.whose inhabitants overwhelmingly are of a religion which teaches that homosexuality is a sin, introduce gay marriage just to suit a few hundred Eckankars, Jainists, Shintos, Tains, Zoroastrians, Neo-Pagans and Jedis whose religion may be in favour of religion?
Most people on the planet are either Christians. Muslims or Jewish.

You're a typical Western liberal - you believe your whole country, culture, beliefs and way of living should bend over backwards just to suit the tiny minority.

Canada is not a Christian country. But carry on.Why should a Christian country like Canada...

No Muslim country would bend over backwards to accomodate Guardian-reading, Western liberals like you, so why do you Guardian-reading, Western liberals want to ride roughshod over your country's customs and beliefs just to suit a few thousands people?
