Nobody has threatened anyone's free expression in those cases. Other people simply also exercised their right to free expression.

.

So....

you don't have a problem with say.....restaurants that refuse entry to Blacks, or country clubs that will not accept Jews, or women....

They are, after all, simply expressing themselves.

This is certainly not a simple problem.

It is a lot more simple than you think.

It is ok to disagree with someone's ideas, it is not ok to disagree with simple aspects of who they are.

Some of this is codified into law, some of it is just up for the free market and exchange of ideas to decide. For example, there is no law against having homophobic people host a show on your network, but if you know that having those people on your network will hurt your brand, you will find someone else.

Simply being Christian, and using that as an excuse to go out attacking people who are different than yourself, are two different things.

I think you might have literally blown Boomer and BL's minds. A Christian who isn't homophobic must be a new concept for him.

Do you think he also believes in all the slavery and racism stuff in the bible?

I am 57, in my job I meet a ton of people. You would be surprised at how many of us, young & old guys, and Gay is a non issue, same as Same Sex Marriage a non issues. It is a basic human right.

Sure it is. The law is evolving nicely.

See, when the Civil Rights Acts were passed (no discrimination in education, employment, places of public accommodation, and such), the justification was that such things were commerce, and therefore Congress could regulate them under the Commerce Clause (U.S. Const., Art. I, sec. 8, cl. 3). But recently, what with Citizens United, McCutcheon, and suchlike cases, the Supremes are increasingly ruling that money is speech, and cannot be regulated. With a little luck, we'll extend this doctrine to "commerce is speech," and regulation of commerce, specifically provided for in the Constitution, will be forbidden by the Supremes. Then we can get back to Jim Crow and who knows what-all.

Of course, the notion that Tebow was told to "keep it to himself" is as much a fantasy as the notion that Michael Sam (or any other gay athlete) is encouraged to "tell more."

In both cases there are large communities telling both types to both keep it to themselves and tell us more.

in related news:

After an uproar from conservative customers, SunTrust Banks announced Friday afternoon that the decision to end its relationship with real estate entrepreneurs David and Jason Benham had been reversed.

Earlier Friday, The Daily Caller reported that SunTrust Banks had pulled all of its listed properties with the Benham brothers’ bank-owned property business.

The move came just a week after HGTV announced it was canceling a planned home renovation show hosted by the Benhams because of their conservative views on abortion and gay marriage.

As a grandpa to 23 little buggers I don't know too much about the gay lifestyle situation
I don't think God really cares as long a two people are committed to each other and don't
run out on their responsibilities.
I often wonder how people can cling to a book be it Bible Koran Torra or anything else.
These books talked about life hundreds if not thousands of years ago and we today are
way past that. Most couldn't read, most were taken in by supposed magic and wonders
that today are not even questioned. Some accounts were written nearly a century after
the events portrayed and some were rewritten for their time and age later.
I think much of what they wrote is a guiding principle of this or that but to have so little faith
in one's self they have to cling to a two thousand year old view of the world is more
mind boggling than anything.
From what I have seen the Gay agenda is fighting to be recognized like the blacks once
fought against slavery or the Chinese fought the head tax. In a decade or two people will
wonder what the fuss was about. We see change all the time take the pot laws government
is about to take over the agenda and regulate and tax it and people will still buy the real stuff
on the black market
