Here is a nice story out of Mexico-and please don’t suggest it could never happen here! Just think back to Mike Harris and the civil service Hogs besieging Queens Park and shutting down the govt of the Ontari-owe premier elected to a second term with the LARGEST MAJORITY ever given in Ontari-owe. OAXACA, Mexico - Violent clashes between police and members of a radical teachers' union who had blockaded roads in southern Mexico on Sunday left six people dead and more than 100 injured, officials said.
The teachers from the National Coordinator of Education Workers, or CNTE, are opposed to the mandatory testing of teachers as part of Mexico's sweeping education reform and are also protesting the arrest of union leaders on money laundering and other charges.
(Yeah- and OUR teachers consider it an INSULT that the province should use EQUAO testing to see if our kids are actually learning anything in class! How long before our teacher are as foolishly militant as their southern colleagues?)
In Sunday's clashes in the southern state of Oaxaca, protesters threw stones and Molotov cocktails, and burned vehicles, while Associated Press journalists saw riot police firing on protesters. Clashes took place in several municipalities in Oaxaca, but the most violent were in Nochixtlan, north of the state capital also called Oaxaca.
In a late-night press conference, Oaxaca state Gov. Gabino Cue, accompanied by Federal Police chief Enrique Galindo, raised the death toll from the clashes in Nochixtlan to six. They said 53 civilians, 41 federal police agents and 14 state police agents were injured.

Cue said that all the dead were civilians, with two having ties to the CNTE union. A state official had previously said a state police officer was killed but it turned out the person was a civilian.
Earlier Sunday, Mexico's federal government released a statement saying 21 federal police had been wounded, three of them by gunfire, and that its agents who participated in the operation were not carrying guns.
"The attacks with guns came from people outside the blockades who fired on the population and federal police," it said.

But footage filmed by The AP shows at least one police officer firing a gun several times, though it was unclear if he was a federal or state agent. Late Sunday night, Galindo acknowledged that he had sent in some officers with guns after agents came under fire. "The police obligation is to protect the population," he said.
(So it is entirely likely the cop guns came out AFTER some idiot opened fire on them- and the news media was not quick enough to spot this- or maybe not honest enough to admit that!)
Clashes were continuing Sunday night outside of Oaxaca city and in the municipalities of San Pablo Huitzo and Santiaguito, where protesters had burned federal police installations.
Over the past week, unionized teachers have blockaded streets, a shopping mall and even train tracks in the western state of Michoacan. They have also forced some bus lines to cancel trips to Oaxaca, which is a popular tourist destination, and blocked a highway on the isthmus of Tehuantepec. And in Oaxaca city, protesting teachers have set up an encampment in the city's main square.
Federal prosecutors accuse union leaders of setting up an illegal financial network to fund protests and line their own pockets. They allege the scheme operated in 2013-2015, when the union effectively controlled the payroll of Oaxaca's teachers.
Following the arrest of some if its top leaders, the union called for a revolt against Mexico's government.

HALIFAX — A small-town university in Atlantic Canada has been thrust into the epicentre of a national debate about free speech on campus, amid new allegations a controversial professor has made “racist and transphobic comments” in class.
Critics and supporters of associate professor Rick Mehta have come forward after Acadia University in Nova Scotia launched an investigation following complaints from students, faculty and others about his polarizing views.
A group of Canadian professors dedicated to the defence of academic freedom have condemned the Acadia probe, while Mehta’s designated department head says some students at the Wolfville school say they have stopped attending his class because of his comments.
The outspoken psychology scholar has made comments about a range of contentious issues including decolonization, immigration, and gender politics.
While his defenders say his voice is an antidote to political correctness run amok, his critics say he attacks marginalized people and perpetuate harmful stereotypes. The situation has exposed the challenge facing universities of balancing the open exchange of ideas with the responsibility of keeping students safe and supported.
Mark Mercer, president of the Society for Academic Freedom and Scholarship, said in a letter Friday that Mehta’s views may be unpopular but they do not constitute an attack on anyone.
(I suggest that the exchange of ideas is one thing- while the exchange of deliberately misleading propaganda- as has become common on campus- is an entirely DIFFERENT ISSUE! As a psychologist- Mehta has a duty to cut through crap and biased thinking in order to assist his patients most fully!)

“I have read many of Dr. Mehta’s postings and it is difficult to see how anything in them could be construed as discriminatory or harassing,” he (Mark Mercer) said in the letter to Acadia’s vice-president academic, Heather Hemming. “If Dr. Mehta’s ideas are false or pernicious, they could be shown to be so through discussion and better ideas.”
(Sadly -the LIE-berals DO NOT WANT “discussion and better ideas”! The recent kerfuffle at Wilfred Laurier University between Lindsey Shepard and the radicals wh objected to her showing a video of Professor Jordan Peterson appearing on TVO/The Agenda is a clear example of LIE-beral mind control!)
(And as a result of the WLU affair- Professor Peterson has launched a lawsuit claiming he has been defamed! And since WLU has already apologized for its heavy handed bullying of Shepard, it would appear that Peterson WILL WIN his case! It is hard to imagine how WLU will defend itself now that they have admitted being biased and wrong headed!)
Mercer, professor and chair of the philosophy department at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, added in an email that the investigation is a “frontal assault on academic freedom” and warned that investigating a professor for the content of his opinions would cast a chill over campus debates.
(After all- psychology is a vague science with few hard facts but lots of opinions so it will be hard to prove that Mehta is doing harm- especially as the university has already acknowledged his expertise by hiring him as a professor to teach other psychologists!)
Other professors have also spoken out against the investigation, as well as changes to Mehta’s teaching allocation assigning him smaller courses. A spokesman for Acadia declined to comment.
In a Feb. 26 letter, Mehta’s designated department head, Rob Raeside, detailed some of the complaints against him, indicating that the level of anxiety in the class is high and some students have stopped attending.
“The students have not expressed in writing the precise details of the racist and transphobic comments, but it is clear from their interactions with me that they are extremely disturbed by your comments, some to the point of not going to class,” said Raeside, an Earth and environmental science professor. Mehta shared the letter on social media.
The letter offers a glimpse into how the university is grappling with the concerns of students, faculty and others.
Raeside said students have accused Mehta of spending excessive class time on non-class related matters, using non-academic sources for lecture content, testing on content not dealt with in class or in assigned readings and making provocative comments in class.
For example, one student said Mehta spent an entire class on human development speaking about feminism and showing slides denying of the existence of a gendered wage gap, Raeside said.
(OH GOSH! This issue of a wage gap has already been exposed for the LIE it is! For example- Statistics Canada has commented that there are an increasing number of women entering the medical field as General Practitioners but that on average they do not work as long hours each week as many of their male counterparts. Less hours worked means lower billing hours and reduced income compared to a male doctor! This is nothing to do with gender or discrimination and has everything to do with female GP`s wanting a better balance between home and office- yet lower paid female doctors- who have made a PERSONAL CHOICE about their pay rates- get counted by radicals LIE-berals as if they were being discriminated against!)
Statistics Canada has said that women in Canada earn 87 cents for every dollar earned by men, largely because of wage inequality between women and men within occupations.
Meanwhile, a student claimed Mehta spends much of his lectures discussing “what he spins as ‘free speech issues,”‘ rather than teaching the required material, Raeside noted in the letter, adding that students say the material is from “right-leaning fringe websites.”
(And will these aspiring future psychologists not come in contact with free speech issues? How can one offer marriage counselling if one does not understand the issues and pressures on a couple? How can one counsel a suicidal native kid if one does not understand the propaganda being spewed into the kids ears?)
“I fully understand that university teaching should expose students to a range of viewpoints, and especially in a discipline like psychology some of these perspectives may be challenging to students,” Raeside said. “However, in a first-year class it is imperative that the approach be well-balanced and must be in line with published resources.”
He encouraged Mehta to “stay on topic,” noting that digressions on non-psychology topics and his opinions must be relevant and not exceed 10 per cent of class time.
In an interview, Mehta took issue with being told how to organize his class, and insisted his comments encourage students to think critically and engage in robust debate.
“I’m open to criticism but the problem with the letter is it’s basically telling me what to do in the sense of micromanaging how I run my courses without taking into consideration it’s my area of expertise,” he said in an interview.
When asked whether he made racist or transphobic remarks, Mehta said “perception is very subjective.”

“I take those issues very seriously, given my own background as first generation Canadian and having grown up with racism, I’m not going to do that in the classroom,” he said. “Even if I didn’t have that life experience, I just know it’s morally wrong to do that in my position as a professor.”
Yet Mehta has ignited outrage for saying multiculturalism is a scam and the decolonization movement aims to create a victim narrative, spur endless apologies and bolster compensation to Indigenous Peoples.

Ford's fight now has allies. Saskatchewan and Nunavut. In fact, Nunavut proves that Trudeau's carbon tax has nothing to do with reducing emissions and likely has much more to do with funneling as much money as he can to the UN.
Nunavut has come up with a comprehensive plan to reduce carbon emissions by the "required" date. From the sounds of things it's entirely workable too. Just one problem, they didn't institute a carbon tax within their plan. Trudeau has rejected their plan until they add a carbon tax.
Now, if you have a workable, comprehensive plan to reduce carbon emissions that doesn't include carbon taxation, then why the insistence from Prince Bouncy Castle that there must be a tax if they can achieve their goal without one?
