Torontonians Don't Want to Pay for Fords Subway
Majority of Toronto residents prefer Scarborough LRT over subway: poll | 680News
An elevated subway trains would make more sense and cheaper to buildThe LRT will replace the current LRT which is in disrepair and is only a couple of decades old if that. A subway will last 100+ years and service thousands more a day. The best time to build a subway is 20 years ago, the second best time is today.

Don't confuse a Liberal. If it is elevated how would it be a subway?
Face it.... That land cancer called Toronto is going to keep expanding on fertile farmland. It makes more sense to get transit in place at today's prices than wait, expropriate and pay tomorrow's costJust read that article again.
Not even the Scarberians want a subway.

I remember the fight Lastman had to get the Shepherd subway built and how the left howled about the cost. The development along that subway line has been nothing short of amazing and the tax base along it has grown exponentially and will more than pay for that line in short order if it hasn't already. The new line heading to York U is also spurring development and will be a boon to the tax base in TO and York Region. The stupid thing to do is not build a subway.Okay.
Roll over that mattress and take all that money to Rob so he can build his subway so the taxpayers don't have to pay for it.........
Rob Ford’s secret budget plan is destined to fail, and that's just the way he wants it
A Toronto city council meeting intended to establish the 2014 budget, expected to include a secretive budget proposal put forward by Mayor Rob Ford, was bound the get ugly.
But no one thought it would get so ugly, so fast.
Within moments of council session getting under way Thursday morning, Ford had already told one councillor to "shut up" and a recess was called after public spectators began shouting and chanting.
Shortly after the council session began, Ford got into a shouting match with conservative Coun. Michael Thompson. "No, you shut up," Ford yelled at one point, before a recess was called.
