When Islam gives me a woman the same rights it gives Muslim men I might change my mind about it. I remember years ago when the world was having a fit because the Taliban in Afghanistan were about to destroy some ancient statues, I was the one saying "screw the statues what about the women?" Oddly enough Iraq that bastion of terror according to the Bushies was the most enlightened when it came to women in the middle east. Couldn't have that now could we, so what did they do with their new found freedom when Saddam was gone, they voted in a repressive religious government and any gains made by women were wiped out. The Koran actually says that men are superior and women must obey. It goes on to tell men to treat woman like children, if she misbehaves refuse to sleep with her, if she continues to misbehave beat her (some say lightly others just beat her). Even the woman's son is her master. Fed up? Hell I have been fed up with it since I became an adult and started reading on the subject.

I'd rather screw the women than the statues.

they are good for a laugh or two along with some derision.
I'd be happy to find something about Islam laughable, unfortunately while they can still kill any woman they wish for honor I will refrain from laughing. If I had to make a choice between Islam and Christianity do you actually question which I would choose, for that matter what any thinking woman would choose.

You wouldn't have an issue. Honour crap is cultural.

Mormosexuals are worse than Muzzies and can get away with it.

Islam and Christianity are two similar religions, the difference in the twenty first century is that the majority of Christians in first world countries are more moderate than some Islamic. I believe that Christian are more moderate because of technology. If you are fed up with Islam then you should be fed up with Christianity and Judaism too. Christians were just as intolerant as these Islamic, but that was in the middle era with the crusades.

tl dr: These are just the same as Christian extremists

That would be the derision part.

I'd prefer to think that any thinking person would choose atheism, agnosticism, or at least secularism.

Sorry, dude, I'm atheist and secular. No faiths in imaginary being and no church, synagogue, temple, etc. in my life.

Did ya notice I said if I HAD to choose. I am an atheist as well, but if I were FORCED to choose it would be modern Christianity.

Do you make maple walnut with real walnuts? If so, I will be by at 2:00.

And, baklava with vanilla?

Go to the real Canadian wholesale joint early in the AM and buy all the dated creme (whipping, 18% table or the fifty/fifty) at 50% off and I'll make all the maple walnut you can handle.

Ever had peanut butter and honey baklava?

Growing up on the sun-swept prairie, I was not introduced to Halvah until I was a teenager; I was hooked. Halvah is a gateway sweet.

Sounds as though my soul is imperilled. Mind you, I lost it to wild-strawberry vareniki.
