The gruesome murder of a soldier outside London by a Muslim convert, Michael Adebolajo, brings to mind that throat slitting and beheading are Islamically sanctioned forms of execution. Although these occur particularly often in the course of family-related crimes – think, for example, of the case of Aasiya Hassan in suburban Buffalo, N.Y., killed by her husband in 2009, stabbed with two hunting knives more than forty times in the face, back and chest, then beheaded – this monstrous form of violence is also used in non-family instances. Having based her research on interviews with young Canadian Muslims, Zine asked rhetorically how she could guarantee the confidentiality of her subjects under the “politics of empire” in “Canada’s war on terror.”

If you Google-translate other Swedish language reports in internet-based newspaper Fria Tider ("Free Times") you'll realize that this is not satire:

"Our ambition is really to do as little as possible," Stockholm Chief of Police Mats Löfving explained to the Swedish newspaper Expressen on Tuesday. "We go to the crime scenes, but when we get there we stand and wait," elaborated Lars Byström, the media relations officer of the Stockholm Police Department. "If we see a burning car, we let it burn if there is no risk of the fire spreading to other cars or buildings nearby. By doing so we minimize the risk of having rocks thrown at us."

Yet the fabled “backlash” has never really materialized – not, at least, on anything remotely resembling the scale that the media have repeatedly predicted. On the contrary, with a very small number of minor, isolated exceptions, people in the non-Muslim world have routinely responded to Muslim violence with civilized restraint. Indeed, it’s hard to think of anything that more dramatically reflects the difference between the Islamic and Western cultures than the contrast between the brutality and scale of the jihadist attacks on the West in recent years and the extraordinarily low level and modest scale of actions taken against Muslim targets in revenge. This refusal of non-Muslims to take an eye-for-an-eye approach in response to jihadist acts is a remarkable testament to the native tolerance of Christians, Jews, and other non-Muslims – and, indeed, to the black-and-white distinction between pretty much every other religion in the world and Islam, which, alone among major faiths, instructs its adherents to see offense everywhere and to respond even to the merest cartoon with murderous violence on a global scale.

The recent terrorist attack in London, during which a British soldier was murdered and beheaded, made waves the world over. Pictures of the murderer holding a butcher's knife in his blood stained hands, justifying the barbaric murder to the camera, emphasized once again the dangers radical Islam poses to the free world.

These images reminded the Israeli public of Abd al-Aziz Salha, one of the perpetrators of the lynching of two Israeli soldiers in Ramallah in October 2000, photographed raising his blood stained hands from the local police station window, where the two were viciously murdered.

For the terrorists in London, the murder they committed is merely a natural response to the war being waged against Muslims throughout the world. In their view, the Muslims are the victims and they are simply exercising their right of self defence.

Who saw this coming?
A poll conducted by the research bureau of Maurice de Hond (the Dutch equivalent of Gallup), commissioned by the PVV,

among a representative sample of over 1,900 people also shows other striking results:




A majority of 55 percent favors stopping immigration from Islamic countries.


63 percent say: no new mosques.


72 percent favor a constitutional ban on Sharia law in the Netherlands.


64 percent say that the arrival of immigrants from Islamic countries has not been beneficial to the Netherlands.

Let's cut to the chase here. Even if we believe that only a significant minority of Muslims cause problems or are sympathetic to causes and social changes that the rest of us don't believe in, isn't that enough to cut off all further Muslim immigration?
