Well Teddy Roosevelt didn't start the Spanish American War for starters. He did fight in it though and charge up San Juan Hill with the Rough Riders.

Hey we cannot explain away the things we have done anymore than other countries can explain what their countries have done in the past. The current wars have nothing to do about money as they have been nothing but a big HUGE Mother F*ing drain on our treasury. Call it revenge, call it payback, call it that the Muslims finally gave us a good excuse to turn the Middle East on it's head. But the country did not get rich off these wars at all. We're pretty much broke to be honest.

Isolationism looks pretty good to me actually.

Well..........you should read up on that one Eagle..........TR was Assistant Secretary of the Navy when the USS Maine blew up in Havana harbour......he practically drove Secretary Long and President McKinley insane with his demands for war...........he was the mover........and when war was declared, he resigned his post and set out to find a way to fight in the Army.

Them getting involved was stupid, stupid, stupid,......especially as they had armed and trained Ho Chi Minh against the Japanese,.....Ho saw the Americans as friends, and would gladly have been a US ally......but the US supported the return of the French colonial masters in an attempt to carry the friendship of the French people......in opposition to the French Communist Party......

They supplied the French, and transported them...........Ho was astounded at this double-cross.

Simply put, the USA ignored the opinion of the OSS guys on the ground in South-east Asia, and let political concerns over communism in all-important Europe over-ride their good sense, their ethics, and the stated policy of post-war anti-colonialism set out by the late FDR.

Sort of will miss the comical little drunken psychopath with his earphone box on his back, mucking up the English language, not being able to tie a thought and a half together.

He's probably wondering right now if there's any chance he left anything incriminating lying around, or if "they" can in fact send him to prison.

A truly sad eight years for the world.
