ya know, there's nothing like 2 mass shootings in 2 days to take the focus off the jeffrey epstein case, the gross mishandling of the people at the border, ratcliff being removed from the pick for dni (director of national intelligence), trump rallys, china's trade war (fill in the blank here)

in fact, looking at recent history it seems there tends to be a mass shooting or so right around the times when a high ranking republican or the party itself has some serious 'splainin' to do. Not every time, but enough times to make me wonder considering the leftists have a long history of having the attitude of the ends justifying the means, no matter the costs.

The alt-right have proven conclusively they have no problem murdering millions of their own people. There are about 70 million gun owners in the us holding onto around 300 million firearms and an estimated 1 trillion rounds of ammo. Now you know why the rightists are so uppity about firearms. You can't force your odious, dehumanizing ideology on the masses when they are well armed and willing to use said arms if necessary.

Craig Zobel breaks silence on 'The Hunt' film release drama

The Hunt: Private Hunting Experience (Spot)

Craig Zobel, the director of “The Hunt”, agreed to pull the release of the controversial film following the tragedies in Texas and Ohio, even though he still thinks the action thriller deserves to be seen.
The film, which centres upon a sporting manhunt as a well-off group tracks down and kills 12 strangers, was deemed too explosive for the current climate following seven days of mass shootings in America earlier this month.
Zobel insists he never set out to make a film that might incite violence, but he understood why the release of the movie had to be pulled.
“Our ambition was to poke at both sides of the aisle equally” he told Variety. “We seek to entertain and unify, not enrage and divide. It is up to the viewers to decide what their takeaway will be.
“I wanted to make a fun, action thriller that satirized this moment in our culture, where we jump to assume we know someone’s beliefs because of which ‘team’ we think they’re on … and then start shouting at them. This rush to judgment is one of the most relevant problems of our time.
“I was devastated by going to sleep to El Paso and waking up to Dayton (shootings). These types of moments happen far too often. In the wake of these horrific events, we immediately considered what it meant for the timing of our film. Once inaccurate assumptions about the content and intent of the movie began to take hold, I supported the decision to move the film off its release date.”
Studio chiefs at Universal immediately paused the marketing campaign for the satirical horror movie after more than 30 people were killed in two separate mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, and they then decided to shelve the release altogether out of consideration for the victims and survivors.
“While Universal Pictures had already paused the marketing campaign for ‘The Hunt’, after thoughtful consideration, the studio has decided to cancel our plans to release the film,” a statement from Universal read. “We stand by our filmmakers and will continue to distribute films in partnership with bold and visionary creators, like those associated with this satirical social thriller, but we understand that now is not the right time to release this film.”
The Hunt was due to hit U.S. cinemas on Sept. 27.

With an attitude towards guns such as some Americans have, lax vetting of those that want to get guns, proliferation of guns and ease to get them, societal pressures, financial stress, etc., it's not hard to figure that people would want to shoot people.

I don't know the law in Texas is there anything there to charge him with besides the social media lynching?
so you want to know if it is illegal to sell firearms to someone who is not able to pass a background check?

What is your gut feeling?

Tighty Righties like half-truths and lies and hate being held accountable for their words.
You are definitely describing the trump derangement syndrome types we are all suffering through here as well as anyone who would support the bushes.

The answer is to actually do politics based on issues and proper solutions, not parties, and to be a centrist, not an totalitarian ideologue.

A Texas grand jury on Thursday indicted the man accused of killing 22 people and wounding 26 others in a shooting last month at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, who had told authorities he was targeting Mexicans, a local prosecutor said.
Patrick Crusius, 21, was indicted for capital murder and will face the death penalty if he is convicted, El Paso County District Attorney Jaime Esparza said in a statement.
“The District Attorney’s Office will continue to work hard to ensure that justice is done and is committed to assisting the victims through the judicial process,” Esparza said.
Crusius is accused of driving 11 hours from his hometown of Allen, Texas, near Dallas, to El Paso on Aug. 3 and firing at shoppers with an AK47 rifle inside a Walmart store, after which he surrendered to officers who confronted him outside the store.

Texas mass shooting suspect’s mom had alerted cops about his ‘AK’-type firearm: Report
Crusius confessed while surrendering and told police he was targeting Mexicans, according to an El Paso police affidavit released days after the shooting.
Most of those killed were Hispanic.
A four-page statement believed to have been written by the suspect and posted on 8chan, an online message board often used by extremists, called the Walmart attack “a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas.”
After the indictment against Crusius was announced, Texas Governor Greg Abbott released a 14-page report detailing several recommendations on how to stop mass shootings in the state.
“Solving the problems that have led to these horrific events will take more than governmental action,” Abbott, a Republican, said in a statement. “It will require parents, families, churches, law enforcement, community groups, schools and others working together to fortify the social fabric of our society.”
The Texas killings were followed just 13 hours later by a mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, where a gunman wearing body armor and a mask killed nine people in less than a minute and wounded 27 others in the city’s downtown historic district before he was shot dead by police.
The two massacres have reverberated across the political arena, with Democratic presidential candidates calling for stricter gun laws and accusing President Donald Trump of stoking anti-immigrant tensions.
The indictment against Crusius will not be available to the public until it has been filed by the District Clerk’s Office. By law, the clerk’s office has 10 days to file the indictment, a spokeswoman for Esparza said.
