I have Edmonton's weather on my computer, and it says it is a balmy plus one today. I am glad for my kids, makes commuting a lot easier. I think I will email the guys at the gym, my fitness trainer and let them know how it is here in the caribbean, rub it in a little.

ROFL Juan!!

AS much as I admire your ingenuity, that approach would have the city writing tickets galore on me... we're legally obligated to have our walks cleared within 48 hrs (I think) of a snowfall. Plus, we don't get rain to come along and clear our driveways off... pity, that! I did have a neighbor though who went on strike with shoveling his driveway and chose instead to drive up and down the driveway flattening the snow rather than shovel it. hahaha ... don't think that idea hasn't crossed my mind more than once!

If we had a law like that, I would have a snow blower. If we get another big dump of snow, I will buy a snow blower. My whole strike thing came about after I came in, exhausted, from shoveling, and swore I wouldn't shovel any more snow. My wife said "Fine but you get the car out when I want to go somewhere" "Fine" I said. We have since made an agreement that if we get another pile of snow, we get a snow blower. In the past, when we got snow, it would be gone by the next day or the day after.

When buying a house, don't get one with a ninety foot driveway......

Another thing. The snow on the sidewalks is mostly from the city's snowplows.

No more of a crock than the Easter bunny.
Hey JLM - I just saw this. I take exception to that comment! The Easter Bunny brings chocolate and just exactly what does the ole' groundhog bring? 6 more weeks of bad weather! You have the hog. We'll take the Bunny :smile::smile:

Would you just buy the darn snowblower. There is no better insurance against snow than the purchase of a snowblower. We bought one in the Okanagan and it hardly snowed again. Wish we had never sold it before moving here. Our son sent a truck over with a plow on it and in about 5 min. our whole driveway was cleard. Good to have a son in the building business.

Toronto
Nanaimo is feeling the global warming effects of industries polution over the past couple of hundred years of pollution destroying the ozone layer.

Toronto has been experiancing major snow storms with peoriods of abnormally high temperatures melting all the snow while still in the middle of the winter.

According to this month's National Geographic the polution coming from the Alberta’s oil sands is a mojor factor in Canada’s global warming problems.

Since Canada needs the revenue from selling this dirty oil to the Americans the person in Nanaimo will have to view this event as a norm and enjoy it

"Nanaimo is feeling the global warming effects of industries polution over the past couple of hundred years of pollution destroying the ozone layer."- More to do with a cold front moving down out of the north, combined with a wet front moving in from the Pacific. Altogether too much stuff made out of this "Global warming" theory.
