So again, attack the message and the facts. Not the messanger with snide cut downs.

Nothing brings down a topic like someone who can't seem to talk about the post and only talk about the poster.

Like you have so far on this thread.

"Ecocide", a term that the fundies are now using to attempt to instill fear into the general public.

Members of a Canadian indigenous tribe turned down $267,000 per person to allow a pipeline to be built through their land

The Lax Kw’alaams Band, a Canadian first nations people living in a remote part of British Columbia, turned down an offer amounting to $267,000 per person to allow a natural gas pipeline and processing facility to be built on their lands.
Malaysian energy giant Petronas and its partners had offered the 3,600-member band a total of $960 million to allow construction of its $30-billion-dollar Pacific NorthWest LNG terminal and Prince Rupert gas pipeline to proceed.
The band wasn’t interested.
“This is not a money issue: this is environmental and cultural,” the band said in a statement. Representatives of the band voted unanimously against the offer.

Ecocide is really economic suicide.
I know you don't even know what that means or you would not have written it. The world suffers from over consumption. Ecocide means destroying the ecology. Soon there will very little to plunder and your grand children will have nothing left to live on. It is people like you who are destroying any possibility of your grand children to have a decent life. There is only a finite source of resources and this culture is on a rampage to gobble them all up as fast as they can.

Now there you are really wrong. It is people like me that work long hours building for the future that will make the world a better place for our grandchildren. The ecoterrorists seek only to destroy our way of life and have no thoughts whatsoever on how to replace it with something better. Or even how to feed and house everyone after they destroy all industry.

A so called quotation from the stupid and savage side of my family. Congrats cliffy, you think the same as the idiots who live on reserve and think they can change the world with stupidity.
Complete with the usual insult. Hey, Cliffy, "Sioux" is a French insult to the Lakotah people. If you knew that, you're a racist scumbag. If you didn't know it, you're a clue-free moron.

Your pick.

I think the time to lay off the 'reconstruction' is once it is as productive as possible. If 'we' are so advanced why do we have no terraced hillsides?

Why Permaculture is so important | Your Family Homestead

Taken to the extreme the Mississippi would be more productive over a long period of time if the bends were taken out. and then the fields look like the above picture.

so you can be semi retired...and enjoy all that sask has to offer?
Sask would be a 'echo-free zone' would it not?

Perhaps I can interest you in a t-shirt that says, "I either want less corruption or more chance to participate'.

They should update it to be the ones now living in a tent city. Oh wait they have to survive don't they? Might I suggest it be the crew of a small freighter deliver humanitarian goods and they run aground in such a way the cargo is saved for use.

Given that the flame that fuels the consumption engine burns brightest at the individual level, what do you see as a logical first step to change our current course ? This is the real challenge here isn't it ? Telling people they have to live without that new car or new TV, telling them that it's in the planet's best interest that they pay twice as much to heat their homes ? Without a grassroots shift at the individual level we can't even elect a government that will face environmental problems head on.
