Hmmm Does an avatar have to depict some aspect of the person?
LOL - if that's true then I guess mine would say something like - I like to eat a lot of lettuce and carrots and I have a huge amount of kids!!!!

"You got that right Y.J. I'm just wondering if "Alaska" Jack may be a more appropriate moniker than "Yukon" Jack. What do you think?"

What the heck is that supposed to mean?

Nothing serious Y.J. relax. Just making reference to the comments accusing you of being pro American. There's nothing wrong with that. Americans are very good neighbours.

Sir francis is correct, however I was hoping to zero in a bit closer.
Mt.Bishop is a good guess but this is not in the north shore mountains.

Thanks, JLM, that clarifies it.

Unfortunately, in our country far too many thinks that to be a good Canadian, one has to be virulently ANTI-American and conversely, if one is pro-American one is is a treasoneous bastard to Canada. (yeah, I heard that before).

Sorry, but I just don't believe in that.

Yukon Jack, one can be very Pro-Canadian while still being Pro-American..

One can also see the differences without it being Anti-American.. It does not require one to bash either side..

Humm the visual effect I get from your Avatar is of you on your porch getting ready to throw what looks like a skin ( bear or animal ) one something.. Looks like your wearing a mask so that no one will be able to call the police just in case..

How can Sir Francis be correct? You stated in your post that the mountain was in BC and that was what he said too.

OOOOOOOOH, Y.J.- "BASTARD"- now isn't that being a little "vernacular"? LOL You're absolutely right, Both Canadians and Americans have very fine traits and of course there's some things where they excel and some where we do. Unless someone is doing us deliberate harm, why take issue with him?

Where do you find these avatars? It's only since I've posted on this forum that I was aware there even was such a word, but I guess that comes from being an old Hill Billy.

JLM, there indeed is such a word. It is a Sanskrit word, meaning incarnation of God. Thus, you could say that Jesus was an avatar of God. In Hinduism there have been nine avatars of God. The tenth is yet to come, and when he does, he will destroy the world.

How it came to be used in the computer jargon I have no idea. But that is the original meaning of the word, it is a Sanskrit word.
