 No one but you would say that!!There are two things that are evil in my reality: waking up in the middle of the night to find I had dropped a wet fart and politics.

Well of course there were rules, and designated punishments for transgressions. The mistake is in assuming there's some supernatural source of the rules. In all the civilizations that have existed on this earth (that we know anything about) were there any that did not have a set of rules that covered things that were NOT to be done, and if they were done was there a punishment attached.
No, you're deliberately muddling the argument. If the man exists alone, then he is the sole arbiter of morality. If there are others, he cannot be, it has to be a consensus in the society he's part of.Even if you have just the man making the rules then is he not playing god? What if he says he can use physical force on others and that is not evil but if anybody tries the same against him then it is evil.
So one of us is going to right and the other will be sucking up slough-water. It doesn't bother me that our conversation can be somewhat short, they still last long enough for (some) information to pass. I haven't searched for an ignore button yet.....and why would I when I have won every argument LOL just kidding about the everytimeWe each think the other is deluded.
I know where it is, but not because of you, you're far too interesting and provocative to ignore. Actually I don't have anybody on ignore, I don't need a machine to ignore people on my behalf. Besides, even the biggest moron on the boards might still say something interesting some time, I don't want to miss it. Double besides, if you surf the boards without logging on, as I often do, the ignore function doesn't work anyway, you just can't see the posts in the members-only threads.I haven't searched for an ignore button yet.....
Good thing you added that last clause. You haven't won any of our exchanges, and neither have I, at least in terms of either of us convincing the other of anything. But really, I think any objective, rational observer would give the nod to me......and why would I when I have won every argument LOL just kidding about the everytime
A perfect example of how messed up this world really is8OBut really, I think any objective, rational observer would give the nod to me...
Agreed, but for completely different reasons than yours. I think beliefs like yours are part of the mess.A perfect example of how messed up this world really is8O
I know you well enough to know you believe it's literally true and entirely consistent, you've made that abundantly clear. That belief is easily falsifiable, but your mindset requires you to ignore the evidence or rationalize it away, and it's easy for you to do, at least to your own satisfaction, because you don't understand science or evidential reasoning or how to think critically. If you'd been born in an Islamic culture you'd be Muslim and making the same arguments based on the Quran, like a couple of other posters here do, if you'd been born in India you'd be Hindu and making the same arguments based on the Bhagavad Gita. You don't know me well enough to know everything that I believe about the Bible.
That is what I mean, you don't know me, on this board I have said the when it suits God all the Gentiles are going to be put in 1 of 7 Churches, each of those has two types of believers, some that are in good standing and some that are not. That is based on their relationship with God. Every religion is going to be swallowed up. You know Christ is doing it when the dead (the ones in the graves at that time) are granted life before those who are alive are invited to the party. If it happens any other way, run in the other direction. Who is in this groupI've no doubt you'd agree with me about the Quran and the Bhagavad Gita, but the difference between us is that I put the Bible in the same category, for the same reasons, which you don't seem able to understand.
About what? Reality would seem to point to right about one thing only.If you can build a perpetual motion wheel I will immediately concede that you're right and I'm wrong.
What do you think of the notion of ''evil''?
Is evil relative? Is it a matter of personal opinion? Are some things evil no matter what?
Is ''evil'' a human construct that has no existence whatsoever outside the human mind?
