VIBC says, on a computer made primarily of plastic.
In a computer only the case and smaller parts such as keys usually contain plastic. The computer itself is made from many other substances (not all harmless, it's true.) Doubtless once the world comes to its senses, even computer manufacturers will stop using plastic. Meantime each of us can choose which parts of the plastics problem we are individually able/willing to tackle, and how.
Or not bother, of course.

Hemp plastic: superior and biodegradable. All we have to do is convince pertoglyph to convert his farm to hemp and stop spraying his crops with toxic chemicals.

So build the rest of the computer out of wood. And the interior of your car too. I'm good with banning vinyl siding.

So your cure to eliminate petroleum based plastic is to make it out of hemp oil instead?

I believe that reducing the use of single use plastics will result in a reduction of plastics in our environment.
It seems to be working in the many jurisdictions that are trying it.

You keep saying the same thing what would replace the single use plastic? How would the replacement not become a problem in the future? Finally what would be the cost to consumers/taxpayers?

"what would be the cost to consumers/taxpayers?"

Don't know exactly; put up some calculations and we can all take a look?

Maybe we could use any/all of the no-problem things we used before we had plastics. The 'cost' could be a sustainably livable planet.

Hemp plastic does NOT biodegrade properly unless it is composted. Hemp is a water intensive crop. Hemp causes desertification.
Bio-plastics aren't really the answer anyway. There's a large plastics company in the Baltics that supplies bio-plastics. However, it doesn't advertise the fact anymore because the carbon footprint to create bio-plastics is about 1.7 times the size of regular plastics.

And as I mentioned above about composting, bio-plastics still cause micro-plastic pollution when simply dumped in a landfill, they only completely bio-degrade when composted.

1. You're asking someone who doesn't know. (If you have suspicions of your own please spell them out.)
2. Paper bags have not been done away with.
3. Carry-bags can be and are made from a huge number of materials.
4. The thread is about plastics, not grocery bags.
5. You already know all of this.

The best thing to do would be anything.

The point of the thread is that the Canadian public is ready for it. They want it.

POOR HOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You demonstrate yet again that your job as LIE-beral SHILL is withering away due to your lack of understanding of the public mood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The public has made it CLEAR they DO NOT WANT any of the deceitful LIE-beral policies that PRETEND to save the environment while grabbing up huge quantities of gravy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And LIE-berals and their allies then use that gravy to DESTROY the environment with their array of gas guzzling TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why ask what would replace it when you can ask what does replace it?

It's being done in many places.

Let us know what you find out!

The average plastic bag in America is used for 12 minutes.
