First thing, our nation must stop looking at the past. Blaming Bush for going into Iraq will not solve the problem. Blaming Obama for not securing a Status of Forces Agreement to keep a residual force there will not solve the problem. The problem is here regardless of the politics of how the end result got us here.Something to keep in mind is that any strategy must evolve as facts on the ground change. This strategy also uses the minimal US military force in reference to ground troops which are more in advisory roles.
What we will look at in this article for defeating the Islamic State are military operations, military assistance programs, diplomatic initiatives that should have been done over three years ago, economic pressure, information operations and changing of the ideology.
