''You cannot escape the result of your bad deeds and you cannot achieve the result of a good deed, which you have not done.''

Gee, oh Great Master I am in utter awe of your words of high wisdom. After all, I survived an abortion attempt, was declared dead by a doctor when I was a few days old, survived years of tortuous child abuse at the hands of my alcoholic mother, have been mugged and shot at, people have tried to run me down with their cars, survived pneumonia four times, had a mild heart attack at age 31, survived an attack of colitis which kept me from work for a ten week period about 30 years ago, suffer from sleep apnea, and had a few other naughty things happen to me while I have saved the lives of two people and received three awards for community service. In light of these facts, your pearls of wisdom ring hollow.

Are you sure your sacred text (ever what it may be) addresses concerns of people like myself?

Yes! God is helping you million times more than your family

If you have to be grateful to your parents, wife and children, how much you should be grateful to God on the same basis of help done to you? Since you have not realized the help of God, you are less grateful to God. You have over estimated the help of your family and you are more grateful to the worldly bonds. God is helping you million times more than your family and His help is continuous for millions of births even though you are not grateful to Him. The help from your family is limited to this birth and if you analyze you will find that business is always hidden in your worldly bonds. Veda says that any soul loves you since you are the means of its happiness (Atmanah kamaya….). Hence, voting for God and rejecting worldly bonds is not violation of justice but it is based on the same very very justice only.

Lack of deep knowledge and analysis makes it to appear as voting for God against justice. But in fact, it is only voting for highest justice and rejecting higher justice. When you reject prostitute before your wife, it is voting to higher justice against lower justice or injustice. Justice and injustice are only comparative terms. If a bachelor loves a prostitute and marries her as social reform, such love to the prostitute becomes justice only. Hence, justice becomes injustice and vice-versa in different contexts. It is only a relative concept. Therefore, establishment of justice means establishment of both Pravrutti and Nivrutti (identifying the present human form of God and selfless service to Him). You can identify the justice at every level through the torchlight of analytical knowledge. Therefore, if you cannot identify justice in Pravrutti, how can you identify justice in Nivrutti? If you cannot vote for your wife against a prostitute, how can you vote for God against your wife?

Hence, analytical knowledge and voting for justice continue without any change in both Pravrutti and Nivrutti. Hence, Lord stressed on establishment of justice only and this covers both Pravrutti and Nivrutti. The high justice becomes injustice before higher justice.

The reason your latest threads were merged was due to the fact that you made numerous threads when they were not necessary. You can post in this thread next time. That way the other members won't think you are spamming the forum.

And in case you didn't read the PM I sent you...stop posting the link, otherwise further punishment will occur.

While I fully agree that every person has the right to voice his/her opinion, one thread on religion is plenty.

To be fair, he is keeping it contained to the one thread, one which happens to be named Dattaswami's Various Religion Threads. If he chooses not to answer and you don't like it, then just peruse other threads in the forum. There are many others to choose from.:)

Some people say ‘we do not need any knowledge’

The Lord preached Gita only when Arjuna fell on His feet and craved for the divine knowledge. The Lord said that trying to give the divine knowledge to the people who are not interested due to their ignorance, egoism, jealousy and greed is like throwing a stone on the pond of mud (Krutstnavit Na Vichalayet). But Sankara went to the house of Mandana Misra and begged for a debate. Then Manadana Misra abused Sankara and refused the debate. But Vyasa and Jaimini who were present there objected to such attitude.

Then only Mandana Misra entered into a debate and the debate continued for twenty-one days. At the end Mandana Misra realized the truth and became the disciple of Sankara. Here Mandana Misra was benefitted and not Sankara. Therefore you must try to uplift all the souls in this world. Even if the mud falls on you, you must have patience. Sankara did not return back even if Mandana Misra abused Him in a pungent way. The father tries to correct his son even if his son scolds him. Such kind attitude is the divine nature. Krishna tried for kauravas and Hanuman tried for Ravana even if they were insulted. Ofcourse you should leave a rigid person, which should be your last resort because such person is destined to his fate.

Datta be Swami Beyondananda. Did he change his name?
Your confusion can be fully removed.......Starting from Energy, up to the form, the entire creation is Maya only, which means wonderful because with respect to God, this creation is unreal by itself, yet it attracts and confuses every soul as if it only exists. The ultimate basis is God. Without God, Energy is unreal and does not exist at all. Without Energy matter and awareness do not exist because matter, awareness, light, heat, etc., are forms of Energy only. Without matter, form cannot exist and without awareness quality cannot exist. Thus Maya exists at three levels. The highest level is Energy and Energy can be unreal for God only.

This Energy-level is called as the Mula Maya. The second higher level is Maha Maya, which is conversion of existing Energy into matter, awareness and other forms like light, heat etc. This second level of Maha Maya constitutes the super powers (Asta Siddhis). The third level is Maya, by which you can produce a form like pot from mud (Matter) or a feeling from awareness.

The soul can cross this Maya and realize the unreality of forms and feelings. A blessed soul by God can control the Maha Maya also and can create matter, awareness (life), light, heat, etc., from the existing Energy. But the blessed devotee can be even a demon and Satan has all these superpowers and controls the Maha Maya. You cannot differentiate Krishna and a demon at this level.

Krishna (also other like human incarnations) created Energy, which is converted into gold (matter) and the matter is converted into a pot. Thus He controlled the three types of Maya. The demon also produced a golden pot but he did not create Energy. From the existing energy only he created gold and pot from gold.

Thus the demon controls only Maha Maya and Maya but not Mula Maya. But you cannot differentiate Krishna from the demon on the basis of the creation of golden pot because the creation of Energy by Krishna is invisible. Therefore, miracles indicate power of God but not God. A solar battery producing light indicates the capture of the Solar-Energy but not capture of the Sun.

Yes! God is helping you million times more than your family

Yeah, that'd be the fk'n day...... even back when I believed in a God and my life was total crap, I prayed and I asked questions to God.... I tried to talk or get some sort of sign just to show me that things will be better later in life...... Nothing..... no response, no signs, no help of any kind from the so-called God.

To even suggest or claim that God is helping me or someone else a million times more then my family or anybody elses..... quite frankly is insulting and total & complete BS.

God hasn't done a god damn thing for me or my life, or for anybody else I know and care about.

The only people helping other people...... is more people. To even attempt to take the credit of good deeds from regular people and suggest God did it all or did a lot more then they did is once again completely insulting and ignorant. After all, you've been preaching about sins and such.

I find it funny that based on your preaching, we're all responsible for our sins and the wrongs we do in our lives..... and for that we're supposed to suffer and be punished by God.......

..... Yet when it comes to doing good things in our lives, we're not supposed to take pride in any of that and apparently we're not supposed to even claim responsibility for the good things we do...... after all, God is responsible for all that and we should be damn grateful for the good deeds that we do, which in reality are God's doing.... :-?

What a crock.

If you have to be grateful to your parents, wife and children, how much you should be grateful to God on the same basis of help done to you?
Zero...... Considering God didn't do D*ck all for me or anybody I know..... considering he hasn't shown up in our lives for centuries and the only people who ever seem to contact him are drunks in alleys or religious figure heads who diddle little children...... he doesn't deserve anything from me or anybody else.

Tell me what he has done for me lately..... or ever..... then maybe I might see something to give him credit for.

Since you have not realized the help of God, you are less grateful to God.
Obviously.

You have over estimated the help of your family and you are more grateful to the worldly bonds.
Maybe your own family should just cut you off and abandon you deep in a winter forest....... then we'll see who's over estimating the help of their family and who's grateful for worldly bonds like search parties, rescue helicopters, shelter and food.

God is helping you million times more than your family and His help is continuous for millions of births even though you are not grateful to Him.
Funny, I thought it was our parents who were responsible for us existing in the first place..... I thought our mothers had to carry us for 9 months and deal with that burden for so long at the expense of their health and well being...... I thought our mothers had to push us out of a tiny hole and suffer through loads of pain....... I thought it was the doctors and nurses at the hospital who help deliver the Baby.

Please tell me where God came into play, because I'd sure as hell like to know.

The help from your family is limited to this birth and if you analyze you will find that business is always hidden in your worldly bonds.
Ok besides "Hidden in your Worldly Bonds" being just an empty pile of crap with no meaning and just used to fancy up what you're saying....... once again you have contradicted yourself.

First you say God is responsible for births...... now you're claiming our family is and they're limited at births, AKA: that's the only thing they're responsible for....... so which one is it?

Veda says that any soul loves you since you are the means of its happiness (Atmanah kamaya….).
Once again, that is meaningless....... Any soul loves you since you are the means of its happiness?

WTF is that supposed to mean? What if there's a soul that loves me, but I can't fk'n stand its company and I do nothing to promote their happiness?

They're just sick in the head as I see it.....

Hence, voting for God and rejecting worldly bonds is not violation of justice but it is based on the same very very justice only.
I think you're losing your cognitive skills, because once again, that sentence holds no meaning.

Since when did we vote for God?

Nobody told me about an election.

And don't you think it's just a little foolish and short minded to "Reject" worldly bonds...... you know, considering we're still existing on this planet, we're still alive, we're still human..... and thus still need our worldly bonds in order to continue living??

After all, if we reject our worldly bonds.... we'd no longer be bonded to this world...... BECAUSE WE'D BE DEAD!!!!

We need shelter, we need food, we need education and tasks, we need family and friends, we need sex in order to reproduce and create more of "God's wonderful children"..... without most of that, we'd either go insane.... or die.

Hence the term "Bonded"

Maybe you're ready to castrate yourself and commit suicide when the alien ship passes by the comet, and reject your worldly bonds..... but I still have a few years left in my life and with my Worldly Bonds before I consider dying to be with God.

Lack of deep knowledge and analysis makes it to appear as voting for God against justice.
Nope, I'd say lack of deep knowledge and analysis is why there are still people who believe a God exists.

But in fact, it is only voting for highest justice and rejecting higher justice.
How can one vote be for both? Don't you mean "Or" rather than "And"?

When you reject prostitute before your wife, it is voting to higher justice against lower justice or injustice.
Or voting for not getting a divorce and having half your sh*t taken.

Justice and injustice are only comparative terms. If a bachelor loves a prostitute and marries her as social reform, such love to the prostitute becomes justice only. Hence, justice becomes injustice and vice-versa in different contexts.
Well duh.... depending on what one does, their intentions and the outcome, context changes, as well as personal view...... you don't need God to tell you this, this is just common sense taught to most children by grade 2 or 3.

It is only a relative concept. Therefore, establishment of justice means establishment of both Pravrutti and Nivrutti (identifying the present human form of God and selfless service to Him). You can identify the justice at every level through the torchlight of analytical knowledge.
Wow.... "The Torchlight of Analytical Knowledge"

Let me show you my "Beacon of Under-Exaggerated Un-Impressive'ness"

Therefore, if you cannot identify justice in Pravrutti, how can you identify justice in Nivrutti? If you cannot vote for your wife against a prostitute, how can you vote for God against your wife?
I vote for my wife over a hooker for a long list of reasons..... so I guess I fit in the "Can Vote" category...... so I guess that also means I can vote for God over my wife......

..... Oh but the hilarious part of that...... IS THAT I WON'T VOTE FOR GOD OVER MY WIFE!

I'm 30 damn years old now.... God had his/her chance to hook up with me and never jumped at the chance..... I met my wife, we said our vows, we're married.

Too late God.... you should have made your move when you had the chance..... oh wait, God never had a chance because God never gave a damn or ever bothered to help out in my life..... I got more help in my life from the bully in school then I ever got from God.

Hence, analytical knowledge and voting for justice continue without any change in both Pravrutti and Nivrutti. Hence, Lord stressed on establishment of justice only and this covers both Pravrutti and Nivrutti. The high justice becomes injustice before higher justice.
Yeah and that made a load of sense too.

So from reading all of this for the last couple of days...... is Pravrutti some sort of Italian fruit?

Notwithstanding my belief in a higher power, I think your post is good. A real "God" would have you get help from whatever source there is, your own intiative and tuition, help from family and friends. A guy just can't expect to sit on his ass every day and expect "pie" to be dropped out of the sky. I get so f*****g sick of these idiots who try to ram their interpretation of religion (based on "the Bible says") down other people's throats.

Some people say ‘we do not need any knowledge’

Didn't your last post just say something about The Torchlight of Analytical Knowledge?

You're not about to contradict yourself again so soon are you?

The Lord preached Gita only when Arjuna fell on His feet and craved for the divine knowledge. The Lord said that trying to give the divine knowledge to the people who are not interested due to their ignorance, egoism, jealousy and greed is like throwing a stone on the pond of mud (Krutstnavit Na Vichalayet).

Pond of mud?

A Mud Puddle you mean?

But Sankara went to the house of Mandana Misra and begged for a debate. Then Manadana Misra abused Sankara and refused the debate. But Vyasa and Jaimini who were present there objected to such attitude.

Guess what?

The only person refusing a "Debate" in here is you because you won't even hold a conversation with any of us and just rant on with your preachings while ignoring anything we ask or say...... which of course leads to people like me "abusing" what you're going on about, simply because you're "abusing" what we're going on about by ignoring, avoiding debate and using a debate forum as some sort of spam game.

So what does that say about you?

If you're not going to show respect for those who take time to read the crap you're posting, then why should any of us show respect?

But based on how your little story is going so far, I suppose that's all our fault for not blindly accepting your religious propaganda too.

Then only Mandana Misra entered into a debate and the debate continued for twenty-one days.

Which tells me that not only were they horrible at debating, but clearly they had nothing better to do, like get food for their family's/communities, helping out other people..... doing their jobs, raising their kids, etc.

At the end Mandana Misra realized the truth and became the disciple of Sankara.

It took 21 days to brainwash someone?

I can do it in 3.

Here Mandana Misra was benefitted and not Sankara.

And what comes with this being "Benefited?"

Would Sankara really care?

Do you think anybody in here cares?

Therefore you must try to uplift all the souls in this world.

And as I have already told you in all seriousness..... if that is truly your intentions in these forums, then you're not doing it with the approach you are using.

Acting like some God-fearing preacher drunk on mouth-wash and just unloading lecture after lecture will not win you over any up-lifted souls.

Two-Way Communication is the key.

^ Your above story clearly explains what a "Debate" can accomplish....... so why don't you try "Debating?"

Even if the mud falls on you, you must have patience.

That's what showers and baths are for.

Sankara did not return back even if Mandana Misra abused Him in a pungent way. The father tries to correct his son even if his son scolds him. Such kind attitude is the divine nature.

No, most people would consider that as being clueless and not understanding that everybody has their own path in life to walk...... or to put it another way, you can lead a horse to water but can not make him drink it.

In other words, you can bombard someone with your religious lecturing all you want..... you may think you're being Divine...... but in reality, you're being annoying and others will view you as a crazy.

Krishna tried for kauravas and Hanuman tried for Ravana even if they were insulted. Of course you should leave a rigid person, which should be your last resort because such person is destined to his fate.

Good.... that's the way it should be. You want to live your life the way you think you should and you want to believe what you want to believe..... fine, all the power to you.... fill yer boots.

But in the same breath and fashion, we want to live our lives the way we think we should and want to believe what we want to believe...... it is not your place to shove your nose into our lives and try and guilt trip us into living our lives like you or believing what you believe.

If it was and you truly believe it's your place to do so...... then in the same fashion, I believe it's my right to shove my beliefs down your throat and continually bombard you into believing what I believe and thinking the way I do.

Would you enjoy that?

Probably not because I imagine you'd fear God would shove a lightening bolt up your arse for your sins.

So where do you get off do that to any of us?

I thought one of the original teachings was to not force your faith onto others...... but rather let others come to you when they are ready??

It would seem many religious groups these days have forgotten this old rule.

Really?

Just stop believing in God for 5 seconds and during those 5 seconds stick a fork into a wall socket...... I'm sure the Energy will still be quite real and does indeed exist.

Without Energy matter and awareness do not exist because matter, awareness, light, heat, etc., are forms of Energy only. Without matter, form cannot exist and without awareness quality cannot exist. Thus Maya exists at three levels. The highest level is Energy and Energy can be unreal for God only.

But you just said above that if one doesn't believe in God and without God, Energy doesn't exist and isn't real..... so how can Energy be only unreal for God only, when you just said it can be the same for those who don't believe in God, or that without God, none of that exists and is unreal???

Yet another contradiction.

You might be able to make pot from mud...... but I wouldn't smoke it.

You can if you're on two hits of LSD..... I did.... I saw all the levels, I saw matter and what isn't years ago.... I saw it all in one and yet separate at the same time..... I was everywhere, yet nowhere at the same time..... I was within and without...... and during my little journey, the one thing I noticed...... through all the living creatures and matter on this planet and throughout the universe...... there was no presences of a God or any other super-beings that controlled everything.

Just us.

I differentiated that there is an after life..... there is this life...... there is this planet full of life, and many other planets full of life too...... and that Krishna and Satan, along with God and his fellow beings don't exist.

Aliens exist more then God.

Krishna (also other like human incarnations) created Energy, which is converted into gold (matter) and the matter is converted into a pot. Thus He controlled the three types of Maya. The demon also produced a golden pot but he did not create Energy. From the existing energy only he created gold and pot from gold.

My wife and I create two jack-o-lanterns yesterday..... puts those pots to shame if you ask me.

Well no kidding about the solar-energy and the sun....... but Miracles don't indicate God or his power..... they just indicate something not yet fully explained or answered.

If one wants to claim a Miracle as being the work of God, then sure..... go ahead..... but I find that's just the lazy way out of finding the true answer.

Oh I agree and as I said before, anybody can believe whatever they wish and if you believe in a God, so be it...... plenty of people do.

Most of my life at the time when I still believed, there might have been one time where I asked for the pie to fall out of the sky..... but most times it was just asking a question or to see some sort of sign...... even the power flickering during a rain storm would have worked..... but nothing and I eventually grew to the point where I not only just stopped asking questions and praying..... but just stopped believing or doing anything for God in any way and started to live my life as I saw fit, regardless of religious teachings or what others thought.

If nobody was going to help me in my life, then I'd help myself and take all the credit...... and while over the years others have helped and I have helped them..... they and I continue taking the credit for our actions.

God might exist, and God might be in the lives of some people.... and some people may feel they have a direct connection with God..... I can't dispute that.

But what I do know is that God isn't in the lives of everyone and God doesn't communication or help everyone..... and for those people, they only have their friends, family and themselves to lean on.

According to science, inert energy is basic material of this universe, which creates, maintains and finally dissolves entire creation and is the God of science. The design of the world doesn’t require the need of awareness because a long duration of time has set up the design of world perfectly by the theory of probability.

Scientists do not accept the necessity of an intellectual agent to design this wonderful world as philosophers imagine in Vedanta (Brahmasutras). If this is the end of the story, science could have easily disposed the proposal of Vedanta and the scriptures can be easily concluded as poetic imaginations of certain poets. It can be easily concluded that certain people have created this poetry to exploit the society in the name of God. Anyone can easily believe science and by this time the world should have been filled with atheists only and today, the minority should be theists.

But surprisingly the majority is theists and minority is only atheists. The atheists say that since majority is uneducated, theism exists due to possibility of easy exploitation of uneducated people. But even educated people show majority of theists only all over the world. What is the reason for this? The reason for this is that the unimaginable God is showing miracles in the lives of several people to establish the existence of unimaginable God.

Not only this, the unimaginable God is exhibiting unimaginable miracles through several devotees and also demons widely. Not only this, God is coming in human form and is offering explanation of the miracles and concept of God. Genuine miracles are many in the world and the minority of atheists is unable to dispose these miracles as magic. You may write the correct answer through copying in the examination. Some body might have also written the same correct answer without copying in the examination.

Since the answer is one and same, can you say that the other person who has written the correct answer also copied necessarily? The product may be same but the methods of production vary. Sodium chloride can be produced in several ways. You have produced it in one way. I have produced it in another way. The end product is the same sodium chloride. You cannot say that I have also produced in your way only.

Swami's loony ravings on these threads remind me of two things: the way Jesus condemned the hypocrisy of the Pharisees in Matthew 23:13-39, and a largely forgotten classic The Story of A Country Town by Edgar Watson Howe:

The story of a country town - Google Books

The story of a country town : Howe, E. W. (Edgar Watson), 1853-1937 : Free Download & Streaming : Internet Archive

For someone who preaches so strenuously (and unconvincingly), Swami is terribly judgmental. History tells us many instances of people who do so as a means of masking or running away from their own shortcomings. We have the example of Jesus and his adversaries, and we have this classical novel from 1883 which I strongly recommend to everyone on this forum.

He reminds me of Herald, kinda like his alter ego in another religion.

Speaking of religious fanatics, seems Mhz has been missing for quite a while. Maybe tuning up his bible for another assault.

He reminds me of Herald, kinda like his alter ego in another religion.

Speaking of religious fanatics, seems Mhz has been missing for quite a while. Maybe tuning up his bible for another assault.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh We sure as hell don't want to encourage these guys. Let sleeping dogs lie.

When God enters the soul and body of His most beloved devotee (son of God), such devotee is called as the human incarnation. In the human incarnation, we find both God and Son of God mixed with each other in a perfect homogeneous state so that both are inseparable like the wire and the current in the live wire. The wire is the Son of God and current is God. The live wire is the human incarnation. The live wire must be treated as the current and there is no alternative way to experience the existence of current.

In this context, the misunderstanding arises. The live wire says that it is moving the fan. In fact, the current is speaking this through the wire. People misunderstand that the bloody wire is boasting about itself as itself moving the fan. The live wire looks like any other wire as far as the properties of the wire (metallic nature, leanness, etc.,) are concerned. This makes other wires to think that the live wire is also an ordinary wire without current, which is boasting about itself. This confusion lead to the crucifixion of Jesus by the public.

When Jesus claimed that He is the truth, the light and the Father of the heaven, this claim was not from the Son of God, but it was from God Himself. But, the observers have misunderstood this statement as that of Jesus. When the speaker is invisible, the mike looks as if it is speaking by itself. Here, at any time the speaker is not converted into mike or the current is not converted into wire. The two units exist separately even during the time of the human incarnation in which, both are homogeneously mixed to form a single phase. If this point is realized, Jesus might have escaped the crucifixion. It is this point, which is stressed by Mohammed. He said that God would never become human being or the vice-versa. This does not mean that the Son of God should not be treated as God in the human incarnation by the devotees.

If you deny this assumption of treating the Son of God as God, the devotees become dissatisfied because they prayed God for the experience of God and service to God. Then the very purpose of the human incarnation is lost. Mohammed clarified this concept to avoid the danger. But, His followers misunderstood that He denied the very concept of human incarnation. Thus Buddha and Mohammed should be taken as the preachers who warned about the reality of the concept to avoid the danger of loosing the highest fruit and punishing the human incarnation respectively. The followers have extrapolated the preaching and as a result, Buddhists thought that God does not exist and Muslims thought that the human incarnation does not exist.

The concept of human incarnation is introduced and explained well by Krishna in the Gita and Jesus in the Bible. Krishna says that God enters the human being and Jesus says that God is in flesh. This clearly means that God is neither the human being nor the flesh at any time. Buddha and Mohammed clarified the misunderstandings of the human beings about this concept. Buddha indicated God as unimaginable through silence and Mohammed indicated God as invisible. The desire to become God comes generally, when God is seen by eyes in human form. Generally, the concept of human incarnation is avoided only to avoid the birth of this desire to become God. When God is invisible, generally the human tendency is to get some benefit from the invisible God and not to become God. But, Alas! The Advaitin has not left even the invisible God! He wants to become even that invisible God! Why becoming God? He claims that he is already God. For this, he proposed that God is the invisible awareness (soul), which exists in his body mixed with qualities, which is called as the individual soul (jeeva). He proposed that simple filtration of qualities from the soul will yield the absolute God because according to him God is pure awareness without qualities. The Advaitin gave his own false concept of God and also his own false way to become God.
