But you might care that you have to pay more to mail a parcel than you would at the Post Office.
The last time I checked, they were using the same rate charts and measuring tapes.

This is a take over by foreigners.
This isn't the first time.
So go right ahead and lose a business YOU PERSONALLY OWNED to a handful of investors.
Enjoy!
Hey if you'd rather pay taxes or more money to private foreign owner than pay attention don't coming running to me if you don't understand what the **** is going on.
UPS Vs. Canada under NAFTA Chapter 11Oh, thanks for clearing that up.
UPS Vs. Canada under NAFTA Chapter 11
Does Canada Post? What is the cost difference for import brokering between the UPS/Purolator parcel and a CanadaPost lettermail? Do you or you boss need to import things on a nearly daily basis? What would it do to a business who relies on CanadaPost parcels to exist?Oh, that old gem.
In our area, Purolator (owned by Canada Post) just got the contract with UPS for all deliveries (UPS doesn't deliver here).
Do you or you boss need to import things on a nearly daily basis?
Yup and what is the expenditure on brokerage fees?Hah, that's a funny one. We do $10million per year, it's all from the US, or Germany, or South Africa, or other Eurpean locations.
So you could say that we do import things daily.
Well here is your chance to earn a few extra dollars JLM. Vernon has lots of deadbeats who will now have to be served notices etc which because mail was govt was the "agent". So go out and start a serving biz. You'll make $$$$ out the ass.

I heard that tooNo doubt they do and then tack on a percentage. A person recently mailed two identical parcels to two identical destinations, one from the P.O. one from the drugstore- the P.O. was cheaper.
I heard that too
Apparently, it's true, but then I wouldn't bet my life on it because I wasn't there (and there's a slight possibility that one of the vendors read the wrong rate off the chart) and there is also the fact that it is "anecdotal evidence" but on the other side of the coin no normal person in their right mind is going to lie about this sort of thing.
I think that if it's true, the person should lodge a complaint, because I'm pretty sure Canada Post has set rates, period.
However I'm quite sure the system allows private contractors to put a surcharge on
I doubt that very much. I'm going to check into it, because you've got me curious.
