So, what should the fine be for driving 40 percent higher than the posted speed in less than ideal conditions?

Vehicle impounded- 3 days- 72 full hours- no 65 and we close at 6 pm- 72 full hrs- School zone- 7 to 14 days-
In a residential - 50-60m k -7 days.
Only for 2nd offense within 3 years. Regardless of who is driving.

You still stuck on less than Ideal conditions.. B.S.

So what was the weather on Nov 28th.. back up your B.S. If it was 2C, or 5C there would be no snow. 10:00AM city streets are warmer then night.. most ice or snow would have already melted. From that pic looks like the "City Streets" are pretty bare.

Time to go out and shoot that dam camera.. later.

Actually, going to the Cat House. Wife is in Mexico right now for 3 months.. When the cats away the mice will play. ;)

Shooting the speed camera.. Phoenix Arizona decided to take their camera down because people used the cameras as target practice.

So now some states are putting up cameras to watch the speed camera..

Photo radar is bullsh!t. Cut and dry. Another skirt around due process.

Sanity!!! Yes, thank you Sir.

I salute.

I'd like to know if the Camera operator will be in court, am I not allowed to face my accuser? The right to due process guarantees anyone accused of a crime the right to face their accuser. When you are accused of violating the law based on a picture who is your accuser? When a police officer gives you a ticket, that ticket is thrown out if the officer does not show up at your hearing. I believe the reason for this is because without the officer the accused can not question there accuser as to the accuracy of what they have been accused of.

The same holds true for speed camera tickets. Who does the accuse have to face in order to question what they have been accused of?

Was the camera calibrated, and when was it last calibrated, other questions like that.

Just say'in..

Are red light cameras constitutional? | Fox News Video

Legislation changed regarding that defense in Alberta (I'm assuming this happened in Alberta)
long ago (provincially, not federally) regarding the "arresting officer" being present in court
regarding traffic cams, as they're just too big of a cash cow to let slip on such a simple
defense.

I don't know how things work in Edmonton (I'm assuming this happened in Edmonton), but
years ago a buddies sister worked in the traffic court system in Calgary. Back then, about
twice a year, someone would come along, take a 7-8 inch pile of fines off of her desk, and
drop them into her garbage can beside her desk. They didn't have the staff to keep up....

Maybe photo traffic cam''s have improved their revenue stream to increase their staffing
in more recent years though. Just say'n....

And yet people slow down because theyre there. How does it skirt due process exactly?

You don't have the ability to face and question your accuser in a court of law as you would if a ticket was issued by a police officer.

And I've driven around Alberta and looking at all the wreckage on the side of the roadways I'd say photo radar is only accomplishing one thing. Generating revenue. That's it.

City Hall and RPS here recently opted to not go with photo radar but I heard they are adding more red light cameras come spring.

Toontown has photo radar now.

You mean all those SUV and 4 wheelers sitting in the ditch along hwy 2 and 43. LOL

Had a fella pass me in the hammer lane on an icy night going north bound doing at least a buck thirty.. then snow everywhere. As I slowed down and passed him, he was stuck on the fence in the center median.. (he must have tore up his under carriage)

You hardly see RCMP on the highways doing radar.. and if you call 911.. you are treated like the criminal for telling them you see someone drunk or reckless.
