Planes tend not to be very airworthy without engines. Even British ones.

Mmm, sometimes they aren't all that air worthy even with engines.

Rolls Royce had to replace the Trent 900 turbofans on the fleet of A380s (Qantas, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines) using their engines due to faulty manufacturing processes that lead to uncontained engine failure. Air France and Emirates A380s were fine though, as they weren't powered by Rolls Royce engines. Qantas has said that the reduced thrust recommended by Rolls Royce following the investigation of Qantas Flight 32 have made some routes unprofitable due to the reduction in payload.

So one slight problem with just one of many different types of Rolls-Royce engines means Rolls-Royce engines are airworthy?

That's some logic you've got there.

The fact that so many airlines from so many different countries are using Rolls-Royce engines for different types of airlines - giving Rolls-Royce a 40% share in the markets in which it competes - just shows what top quality the engines are.

British women aren't going because there is no hand cream on Mars.

Our women aren't going because, unlike Canadian men, our men are going instead.

That's a nice red herring you have there. Do you understand the rules of logic? The inference you should have taken away from the fact at hand is that having engine(s) doesn't mean an aircraft is air worthy. Even if they are Rolls Royce.

Just sort of nodding back towards the topic. There was talk earlier about terraforming but that is not possible with our current technology. As near as I can see, without a billion trillion tons of water and air, the only colonizing of Mars will be with sealed structures containing breathable air to keep people alive. Some kind of greenhouses could provide oxygen and food but the first colonists will be living on frozen and canned food for a long time. Barsoom is a long way off.

Given the time it takes to get there and a big enough ship, they'd almost have enough for hydroponics. They'll need both on Mars....

If there is enough water, they could do aquaponics...damn I should have applied.

Well, you don't seem to have any.

S'ok. Brit men are just dead weight anyway.

I don't need to bake. Like any real man I get a woman to do it for me.
...... and if your woman ever dies or goes away, you're fukked because you can't do di ck for yourself.

Yep. It's an exercise in leeching.

ice hockey, baseball.

.

Brits might be responsible for Field Hockey.. but Ice Hockey is all ours. And they might have come up with Cricket..but i think America should be the nod for Baseball... Abner Doubleday sometime after the Civil War i think.. from a game called Rounders which might or might not be of British origin.

And what was that line from Otto in A Fish Called Wanda of Britain's gift to world cuisine.. deep fried Fish and Chips.. served on used Newspaper to soak up the grease.. can't forget that.. Bon Appetite. :)

The British and Chinese are going to be in the forefront of colonising Mars.

It will be British rovers and other technology sent to Mars on Chinese spaceships.

The Brits couldn't even put a lander on Mars never mind a rover. They are still looking for it!

America may have been prosperous in the 1950s and 1960s thanks to all that British money that it received for all those crappy old American weapons during the War but it wasn't the same for every nation, of course.

Saved your butts twice.
