I think it's primary cause isn't touchy feely or caring but fear of lawsuits that school boards have become the Mother Teresas of the playground games.

...and NOT boiling it down to the lowest common denominator invites litigation. I went to "Duke-it-out" P.S. There, the lowest denominator played skipping if soccer was too rough.

Could have litigation could have kids moving from room to room with guns making a statement, duking it out a little more rough than the duke it out gang. Sure there will be litigation, that isn't lost, but why let personal responsibility slide that far?

When a teacher has to fear investigation because her kiss to fix a skinned knee is interpreted as something sexual, or a six-year-old kid gets expelled because a "you're-my-friend" hug is a bad thing to do, it's time to look into our own little worlds and ask: "How did we ever get so jaded?" Too many lawyers. Too much money.

I worked with a woman who's son's school had removed the play equipment because of lawsuits and sky rocketing insurance...this left all the kids to suffer for the greed of the parents.

The world is becoming very much like this school field. It will be barren, desolet, devoid of life and fun because of some greedy people.

That is why private schools are on the rise and doing so well. Granted the US is the worst place for litigation, but we use the same thing in Canada to push for the bottom.

If the right wingnuts would just let go the bible in the classroom idea, there might be a chance that yet another idea can slip into the slot and they can have some voice to balance the looney leftwing that now own public schools in Ontario at least but the ROC and perhaps even the US as well.

Til then I guess we will have to go without tag or anyone to give Johnny the bully a slap in the head when he's out of line.

Sorry to disagree (we-ee-ll maybe not) but I believe separate schools (public vs private/religious) only serve to further widen a gap between rich and poor and between religious affiliation that sooner or later is going to be the real cause of violence in North America. We have gone far too deep into this politically correct nightmare and forgot the basic animal in all people.

Sure but due to the lack lustre of the public school system that those who can and will pay over and above the taxes they pay for public school system the tuition for a private school that will fulfill the wishes of the parents in teaching.

Once we get used to the idea that school is little more than warehousing kids to keep them out of the way until we can legally put them into jobs of their own, we can see why it is that there is little real teaching going on in schools at all.

It's expected that some of them will go a little crazy and some have a good head start with the parents they have.

Most kids are far ahead when they stay home with their parents who teach them about life and what they need to know. Once they are in their twenties and matured a little, they are adept to learn job skills. But more importantly, they are balanced, interested and already have a higher level of understanding of a given field.

you hold your fists so the knuckles touch (one hand from each player), then one person has to try and hit the other's knuckles with his OR feint at them. If the hitter feints and the other guy flinches (moves his fist away) the hitter gets a free hit. If the hitter makes an attempt to hit the knuckles and misses, it's the other guy's turn to be the hitter.

you can also play it as "slapsies" where you have flat palms, together in the praying position, touching at the fingertips, and attempt to slap the back of the other fellows hand with one of yours
