What side of the arguement are the "Truthers" on again? The labels fly but I just
lose track of them after a while, like the "Birthers" and so on and so forth from
some of the other polarized topics.

Easy as pie.

The conspiracy side....same ones who think Oswald didn't shoot Kennedy and area 51 is full of dead aliens and spaceships.....the very same ones who think Obama is a secret muslim born in Kenya and 9/11 was orchestrated by either Jews or the US government or bankers or Al gore or David Suzuki or this guy or all of the above.

One thing I have found surprising, is that a large number of cons are conspiracy nuts. I always thought it was looney lefty hippies.

There a few radio programs that talk about this sort of garbage and the hosts are all hard core cons and bible thumpers.

Huh, who knew?

Yeah, OK.....so....are the "Truthers" for advocating the Global Warming Conspiracy thing
or denying the Global Warming Conspiracy thing?

There's not much of a clue in the label.

Truthers insist there is a conspiracy Ron. The 9/11 truthers insist there is a conspiracy. Birthers insist there is a conspiracy. Some climate deniers insist there is a conspiracy.

All evidence to the contrary is a feed back loop, becomes evidence that there is an active push to suppress knowledge of the conspiracy.

So in other words, half dozen of one, 6 of the other.

Each side has it's fringe squawkers.

Those that think it's a one world order conspiracy and those that think any distention is a con/big oil conspiracy.

Personally I think everyone is out to make money.

Ahhh....so the "Truthers" can be either advocating or denying the topic, as long as
they think that there is a conspiracy involved. Okily-dokily then. Thank You!

Four of the coastal nuclear plants in California would not have withstand the 9.0 Japanese quake, meaning our entire continent would have been irridated.

This event is a shame in that regard.

The anti-nuke greenies movement will use this to prevent nukes from being built.

So when are we going to convince or force China, India and Brazil to stop polluting the atmosphere. Stop them and maybe we can reverse global warming.

STOCKHOLM – The ice of Greenland and the rest of the Arctic is melting faster than expected and could help raise global sea levels by as much as 5 feet this century, dramatically higher than earlier projections, an authoritative international assessment says.
The findings "emphasize the need for greater urgency" in combating global warming, says the report of the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Program (AMAP), the scientific arm of the eight-nation Arctic Council.

Ahh goody, the election is over.

So long as everyone is afraid to jump into the pool first, well excepting Europe, we may have to wait for the bad before we do anything wise. Abundant resources and falling prices already look to be a thing of the past. Not shocking. Soil quality is getting worse. The 3.5 % yearly increase in crop yields per acre from the 60's is now down to about 1.2% today despite massive quantities of fertilizer now used, meanwhile population continues to grow by 1% every year. And nobody seems to understand, or want to understand that compound growth with finite resources is impossible to sustain. We've now seen a rise in the price of commodities that eclipsed the rise during WW2.

The cynical and innumerate among us will say Malthus was crying wolf. Well he couldn't know what was going to happen in the future, but even when someone is crying wolf, that doesn't mean there won't be a wolf some day.

Maintaining this ridiculous and desperate focus on continual growth is pushing us towards a crash.

You can't have all of this without an eventual paradigm shift. It could be proactive on our parts, or reactionary...it's difficult, nigh impossible to get the decision makers who matter to actually plan for the long-term...

Never. They're still developing nations so I've heard.

I doubt with the subject of climate there is anyone who knows all the facts!
