Not sure. The other day a young lady I know said she thought I was one of the most grounded people she ever knew. I had to wonder about the other people she knew. I told her it was all an illusion. She did a double take, shook her head and said, "NO." I really don't know what to make of it.

As long as you don't get electrocuted.

To me, religion is like the kindergarten of spirituality. Once hooked, most never graduate. Religion is just a finger pointing the way, but most stop to suck on it for spiritual nourishment instead of going off in the direction it is pointing. They cling to it as if letting go would drop them into the abyss of the unknown - which it does, but that is part of the adventure. Among the many things in the bible that people don't follow is the one about - "Seek and ye shall find. Ask and ye shall receive". The big mistake, to me anyway, is that once they find the book, they think they don't need to go any farther. The book is just a sign post. Most can't seem to go beyond the sign, kinda like flat earthers afraid to fall off the edge.

That cessation of study is the condition sought by the established church early in the power struggle. This captured the lowest common denominator, where the numbers ensured market supremacy and control. The birth of our blessed revenue stream. It also destroyed the oppositions ability to educate a more liberal and informed power elite. The masses were hooked on superstition and so began a permanent meal of cheeseburger platters for the mind. Today even the meaning of the word religion has been lost to the subscribers of the church of shame and ignorance.
Life is a long walk on a narrow path and a book that halts your steps is one you should have burnt. There is no permanent rest except you complete the journey. The path and the door it leads to are within your own mind and the spark that lifts your feet as well.
Of the humans born only very few will germinate on the next plane of awareness, nature always makes lots of seed, nature also ensures that only the fit survive. We can intellectualize all we like if we won't lift our feet we can hardly expect to travel very far on the great way. Yer right Cliffy we stop at the book and there we sit till degeneration takes us without a decent fight. We mumble empty lines in a big wooden box one day a week and we think our hairy backs are covered with a celestial robe. Christ we're stupid? Is it any wonder we tempt extermination?

I remember the split too. I also remember I was watching Johnny Carson when NBC cut live to NY when Lennon was shot.

Actually Lennon's shooting was what made me first listen to them in earnest. I was twelve and remember listening to radio (covertly as I was not supposed to be up that late)and hearing the d.j. sobbing on the air. It made a huge impact on me.

They need some edjumacating then.

I was three when they ceased to exist as a band, btw. Didn't prevent me from knowing who they were/are.

Ohhhhhhhhhh, you're just a kid, I was about 21 when they first got famous! My kid brother got suspended from school for getting a Beetle haircut. Pretty harmless by todays standards.

I liked them when I was younger. You must be the same age as I am.

I am far too young to remember the Andrews Sisters, but they had real talent ,,,
Not wishing to be accused of being off topic, I think they were Christian...

LOL. I'd forgotten what thread I was in, got caught up in the Beatles thing. Oops!

Well, maybe I can parlay that whole 'more famous than Jesus' thing into an excuse.

Guess I'll be over in the corner being all chagrined now. ;)

I was an infant and cannot be held responsible for how others used my year of birth.

Do you remember the Maguire sisters? ................"May you Always", they were the best of all "the sisters".
