At one time Nawleans was the worst and about 90% of the cops were corrupt! I guess Katrina got things slowed down a bit!

That's the problem - the USA feels government is not the solution to problems at home. But somehow government is the only solution to problems overseas. That's why we waste all our money there and problems such as those in Chicago persist.

The violence spiked when the invasion began. How many innocent civilian victims were there in the first few months? How much of the infrastructure was destroyed? Wally, you are blind in one eye and the other has tunnel vision.

NO KIdding. GWB was the first US president ever to instigate a war then lose it. SAddam had 'toned down' into your normal Middle east autocrat, Directional drilling was eliminating the American need for Iraqi oil.

Any 'order' was destroyed. Just a foolish waste of resources and young Americans.

Shootings on the Northwest, Near North and South sides left at least 10 people hurt since Saturday night, according to authorities.

Authorities initially said a 19-year-old man fired on by police during a chase on the South Side suffered a graze wound to the elbow, which would have brought the total number of people shot to at least 11. About 7 a.m. this morning police said they determined the man's injury was not a gunshot wound.

Three of the injured were shot about 2:25 a.m. in the 6100 block of South Normal Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

The three men shot there were outside on the block when they heard gunfire and each realized they had been shot, Gaines said.

apparently it can take a while as each person's body will react differently analysing what it thinks is the best response for survival and then responding thus...so some people may feel pain immediately and not be able to move others won't know they have been shot until later after they have run a ways

Sorry, wrong, here's an update.

wo people were taken to hospitals in serious-to-critical condition after a shooting in the Englewood neighborhood this afternoon. The shooting took place at 3:42 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Emerald Avenue, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Stacey Cooper, citing preliminary information.
One male suffered a single gunshot wound to the back, while a second male was shot once in the right arm, Cooper said. She did not have the ages of the two victims.

Two people were killed and 20 others were wounded in a rash of gun violence over the course of 12 hours in Chicago, two weeks after the city was rocked by gunfire over the Independence Day holiday.

One of the victims was 11-year-old Shamiya Adams, who was shot in the head at a sleepover at a friend's home in Chicago's West Garfield Park neighborhood at around 9:35 p.m. Friday.

Police called the string of shootings "unacceptable" and said "there is clearly much more work to be done."

Adams was in a first floor bedroom when gunshots came in through the window, originating from somewhere outside the house, Chicago Police Department spokesman Officer Jose Estrada said.
