CDNBear, it is a known fact that there was no tobacco in Europe prior to the "discovery" of America.

In all fairness, though, there were also no tomatoes, peppers or potatoes, either. So, the Europeans can thank North American Natives for those vegetables, which became so entrenched in years after 1492, that the Irish died of starvation when the potato crop failed, the Italian cousine would be unimaginable without tomatoes and the Hungarian cousine without red paprika.

For all of that North Amercan Natives deserve thanks.

So, let us smoke and share a peace pipe.

That's awesome, so in other words, you start one, then run like a girl.
HEY! I bet this girl runs like a girl, too. Is there something wrong with running the way I run? How'dja like some fire ants in yer bed one night?

Please, DO NOT bash smoking! Smoking is an act that was not invented by those horrible white folks. Smoking was totally unknown in Europe, and to Europeans until the North American Natives gave tobacco and all its blessings to them. Therefore, smoking MUST BE good!

The Natives of North America must have thought that it was a fair trade for the blankets, which may or may not have been loaded with diseases, otherwise why should they have made the deal?.
To native North Americans it was a medicinal item. A lot of us still give tobacco to someone in return for some healing or something. It took the dense Europeans to abuse the stuff.

Sure, give and promote cancer in the name of health.

Anyone even wonders why there are reservations? And why some people live there?

I said medicinal, Jack. Tobacco should be used sparingly and in small quantities. It is used in some gastrointestinal ailments and to natives, it was also a spiritual medicine. Get a grip.

No wonder, they're the result of European stupidity and cruelty.

Keep shooting your mouth off in ignorance rather than actually being open to learning.

That is the most sensible thing I seen written here on the subject. I think pretty much everything if used to extreme will eventually give you cancer, whereas most things if used in moderation won't. Sure if a person spends 8 hours a day enveloped in 2nd hand smoke he/she could well develop cancer after 30 or 40 years of it, whereas smoking 2 or 3 cigarettes a day is probably pretty harmless.

Do you feel the same way about the scent of ethnic foods and body odor from those that don't believe in deodorant?
There is nothing wrong with the smell of ethnic foods, though I assume because you brought it up that you do...

Body odor is something else....

Heheheh...Good shot...I have felt hot pipe tobacco smoke gently blown in my ear, when I was a kid, take the pain of an ear ache away....maybe it was just the heat....but it worked...
Also chased mosquitoes away in the bush:lol:

That is exactly what happened. Tobacco was a entheogen to the natives, europeans turned it into a recreational drug.

Thanx for pointing that out, now I can place less respect on your posts.

You can try, but I suspect your IQ is too low to handle most of what I can throw at you. BTW a moronic rooster is the perfect avatar to depict your level of intelligence and personality.

Untreated tobacco and Kinicinic doesn't have the same carcinogenic properties as the crap I sell to white folk these days skippy.

Anyone even wonders why there are reservations?
Nope, I don't wonder.

And why some people live there?
Don't wonder about that either. I don't live on one, but I did for many years. Best time of my life.

You'r trying to reason with SJP's anti thesis. Good luck.

Bingo!

Actually I was just curious Risus. You seemed pretty adamant about the 'stink' of smoke in clothes, I was just teying to find out if it was an olfactory sensitivity or a bias. Because I do actually find strong odors of many kinds disturbing to my senses. Oft leaving me with a sharp headache. They range from food odors to perfumes. So to answer your assertion, yes, yes I do have a problem with certain food smells. As LW mentioned curry is one of them, which is sad, because I love East Asian food.

Body odor is something else....
And the very reason I would rather die then take public transit, lol.

Or inhaling the smoke from burning Wintergreen and Bear berry, breaking up congestion.

Not that I've seen any of the magnificence around here yet, I feel compelled to mention...I thought you didn't flame Bar?

I thought you said you were smarter then me? Your powers of observation seem limited.

I normally don't. I find it a complete waste of time, and I don't post in these forums to call people names, but you issued your post as a challenge. Apparently you are one of those odd people who like being abused. Now that I know you actually enjoy it I will be happy to accommodate you. I care very little for bullies who operate under the mistaken belief that their comments carry greater force if they are accompanied by insults.

As for my powers of observation, they are just fine. I suspect someone has been playing with your avatar. It shows you as Foghorn Leghorn on my computer.

No I didn't. Feeling weak and need a place to feel big do you?

Isn't that what you did? I mean, since you were the first person to throw an insult out in this conversation, tsk tsk Bar.

I guess when you have nothing to rebut with, insults will do, that's very sad Bar.

Conspiracy theories now? My my...Your powers of observation really are limited, or you need a new computer.

Um, "escapism" - "The tendency to escape from daily reality or routine by indulging in daydreaming, fantasy, or entertainment." from the FOD. :D

I love escapism ... beats doing laundry.

Brilliant. You must have been up half the night coming up with those non-sequiturs and half-witticisms. They are so weak they are not worth the time to comment on each one individually.
