OMG, you haven't seen it? really? Okay

Yes, I've seen that one a dozen times, and as I've stated as many times it doesn't show what went on behind the camera. it is plain that the assailant struck the camera but there is the limit of it's value as evidence of any contact with the reporter. Show me something new.

There is a concept of letting the punishment fit the crime that we adhere to in Canada, and in my opinion Ms. Gunn Ried, in true drama queen fashion, is playing to the camera to push the severity of the "attack" out of proportion with what actually happened. Show me a picture of her being struck by the camera and I'll eat my words, but I'm confident that if such proof existed it would have surfaced by now. In the meantime this is just another attempt to manipulate public support for a totally partisan cause. Ms. Gunn Reid makes no secret of her hatred for anything and all things NDP in Alberta, and that any form of journalistic integrity takes a back seat to her bring-down-the-government agenda. You go ahead and let her fool you if that's your wish, I've seen her act so many times before that it's going to be darn near impossible for her to fool me without some definitive proof.

The terse exchange between her and the Canadian Press photographer doesn't surprise me a bit, mainstream media see her and The Rebel as a scar on the face of responsible journalism. It speaks volumes that reputable media sources are still using words like "alleged" and "Rebel reporter claims" when reporting on the incident, it says they recognize that the video is inconclusive as proof. On the other hand, sources for whom discrediting the NDP government is more important than accurately reporting on the exchange between one hot-head protester and a notoriously abrasive far-right partisan hack are still sticking with the "he punched me in the face" story, despite the absence of photographic proof.

He cuffed the CAMERA!...

Neither of these two lunatics involved are sympathetic figures to me.

I'm so fed up with this story, I hope the protester and Gunn just draw a big chalk circle at the edge of a cliff and Sumo wrestle with the loser plummeting to his or her death!

Reread the thread. that's the basis of your argument all along.

I think you're ready from some remedial reading instruction. Go ahead bozo, quote the appropriate passage(s).

My argument all along is that he hit the camera, not her face as she claims, and that she is over-dramatizing the attack. Not once have I said that he was not wrong or even justified in his actions, just that the way the reporter is framing things is not accurate.

Reporter : "Don't tell me to calm down, that guy just hit me in the face."

Protestor 1: "You deserve to be angry. You deserve to be angry. I am just trying to make sure nothing more happens."

But hey... SHE was a conservative reporter and HE was a liberal protester... so I guessed she deserved it. She's just being over dramatic.

Yesterday our Alberta bureau chief, Sheila Gunn Reid, was hit in the face by an NDP thug, right on the steps of the Alberta Legislature. Here's Sheila's report:
Sheila had gone there to report on a left-wing “Women’s March.” It was basically an NDP rally against Donald Trump. So: the usual professional protesters from the left.
Of course, the event was dominated by NDP men. One of them saw Sheila, and recognized her from The Rebel.
He started arguing with her; then swearing at her; then he said he’d hit her — and then he did.
All while Sheila’s camera was rolling. Here is the full unedited video

(UPDATE: Found!) Rebel reporter attacked by Alberta NDP thug - The Rebel
Incite is the name of the game
All the emotions, gives me a headache

Rebel members or ticket holders have agendas
Not sure if these agendas are fair?
My BFF told me she was a Rebel ticket holder,I thought she meant Hockey
I figured it was a copyright name
But then she set me straight,
We discussed what a ticket holder gig is
I was shocked and reminded again of my naiveness, hence my he clanging game
I congratulated her and talked about my old political ways
And how these ways never had me arrive at anywhere of significance
I congratulated her and wished her well in the ranks of politics

Inciting is the name of the game

Decriminalize domestic violence like Russia did today.
Ridiculous
But then again........

264.1 (1) Every one commits an offence who, in any manner, knowingly utters, conveys or causes any person to receive a threat
(a) to cause death or bodily harm to any person;
(b) to burn, destroy or damage real or personal property; or
(c) to kill, poison or injure an animal or bird that is the property of any person.

which of course is why the chicksh!t little womansmacker ran like a beatch

any bar I ever worked at, he did that, he would have left through an un-opened wall
possibly more then once

If Trudeau Номер Один did anything useful at all, it was to have the Criminal Code translated into plain English, such that it is, (compare that with the Firearms Act written by Pierre's sycophant Jean Chretien and his thug Alan Rock, cops, lawyers and judges still can't figure it out, or many provincial statutes for that matter).

Scoff at the wisdom as you will, but people get themselves into lots of trouble because they are wilfully ignorant, and ignorance of the law is not a defense for transgressors.

Ignorance of the law" implies an inability to know right from wrong, I don't think that was the case here. Mr. Bews should have known from the start that letting his emotions get the better of him was not going to end well, just as it was easily foreseeable that Ms. Gunn Reid's purpose at the rally was to stir the pot.

It didn't take a crystal ball to see that coming, launching an attack in front of an active video camera isn't exactly the height of intelligence. It will be interesting to see what sort of sentence is levied.

If Gunn had an ounce of fair play in her, she would not press charges. But I doubt this thin-skinned extremist will consider that option.

I might belt a camera too if it was shoved into my face by the CBC and the reporter was a biased hack like Gunn appears to be.

Tripod shmypod...

If Bew damaged the camera he should pay for its repair. As for Gunn and her hysterical accusation about being 'punched in the face', I really don't care.
