I was blown away by the performance given by "Wolf". That guy rocked! As for Jim Carey's daughter, I don't think she's as gifted as the judges proclaimed. Once again, I'm annoyed by the fact that they gave out 52 golden tickets, yet we only got to see a handful! Argh!

I missed Wolf, I'll have to check him out. Jane seemed nice, totally has her dad's smile and wasn't all that amazing, she has a nice voice but that's about it. Still I'm interested enough in wanting to see her in Hollywood as Jim Carrey's daughter Jane that I don't mind too much that she went to Hollywood. plus it was super amusing to see JLo talk about seeing her as a two year old, lol. I kind of bailed before the end of the show, but I did like one of the girls, I just don't recall her name but she thought she was auditioning for Next top Model, lol.

Kris Allen. Techno remix. Love. Just sayin'

Okay, I finally heard the remix of Vision of Love. I honestly can't wait to hear the original, but the remix just gives me a headache. Definitely not my cup of tea.

What did you guys think about the audition from the fella born without ears? I think it's very inspirational that someone born with that type of life obstacle won't allow it to stop his passion for music and singing. I look forward to seeing him perform again.

I missed Thursday's show - was he on then? That is inspirational though. Some people don't let anything stop them from their dreams.

OMG I love it! lol. I have a real fondness for remixes though and I would have liked to have seen some good ones from the last album, but the ones we got were horrible.

If they released this one to the right places I think it would do well. Use it as a promotional tool, get his name out there. Send it forth. I wonder if there are more remixes to come...? *grabby hands*

I can't ever imagine him singing it remix style live, but that would be hilarious. :D but yes. I really can't wait to hear the original since what we got of it (probably just the chorus) sounds amazing. (to me)

Well, I'm not against remixes or stuff like that. I just didn't like that one. It sounds like a bad '90s dance track to me. I'm sure the original track will be awesome! But yay if you love the remix! Electronic music is really a hit or a miss with me, I love it in some cases, but when the beats gets really repetitive and it's the same sounds over and over, it drives me crazy.

I forget my 1st reaction, it was just kinda...wtf is this? and I thought the song sounded like nothing...but it was like night and day, the 2nd time I listened to it (a few minutes later) - I was crazy about it. I love the lyrics, the tune, and the vocal. If I can't hear the original, though, I can't really say what I think of how they remixed it. So I can't review the remix *as* a remix.

But basically if I heard this is a club I think I would love it.

Here's something about Sebastian Pigott:

Has anyone heard anything about Oliver lately?

I actually wanted to listen to the remix again this weekend, but I couldn't find my original link to the song. So if somebody has it somewhere, I'd be grateful! I actally liked the "Kris" parts in the song if that makes sense, the lyrincs, the vocals. I just didn't like what I assume are the "remix" parts of the song, the dance music just didn't feel original or interesting. But yeah, I do want to listen again to see if I form another impression.

Has anyone heard anything about Oliver lately?

The Pigotts just did some shows in London and Paris. I'm very confused about how they manage their musical careers. They do some shows in Toronto and in Europe, but other than that they don't tour at all. I mean, for me, the basis of a musical career is to tour in your own country, but they've never come to Montréal and they don't even tour (or barely) in Ontario. It's probably way more expensive to travel all the way to Europe than to tour closer to home here in Canada! Their album has been recorded for a while, but it hasn't been released. Last spring (I think), I asked Oliver on twitter about doing a show in Montréal and he said they would tour in Canada to support their album during the summer or the fall. Obviously that didn't happen. They're kind of losing me as a fan because nothing is happening. I can't support musicians if they don't actually put out music or if they don't tour in my city.

This was the original leak of the remix

and then someone edited that first vocalless minute out to get a much shortened version - which I do like better.

Maison and Dragen tweeted that it was unfinished, so I don't know if they also planned to edit it down or what changes they had planned. But I really like the remix, and now I'm really interested in the original.. where I was kind of.. Vision of Love??? before. LOL

In my opinion the Pigotts sort of plan their tours around Sebastian working. Plus Oliver lived in London so he's more familiar with it and the clubs there. They are rather haphazard though. Toronto show, London Show, London show. They do a lot of one-off's. With a lot of miles between gigs. They can't be making any money. I don't understand the tour schedule either..

I've seen Bomb girls.. *cough* Once.

What do you guys think about Simon (and Fox) firing everyone on X Factor? Yikes. I guess they really weren't happy about the ratings.. lol

Part 2! Kris likes the beach and restaurants..

Thanks SleepinIn! But, honestly, I can't. I don't like it at all. The overload of synths really gives me a headache.

I haven't even watched Part 1 of the interview yet, nevermind Part 2!

X-Factor: Meh. I'm kind of amused by the whole thing. Simon just seems desperate, his big ego thought that his show would be the best ever and it just wasn't.

I think that sums up my feelings, too. Haha. I didn't even ever watch it. Sometimes it's little things - like, I was going to check it out, then I saw all the pics of Simon lookin' like he had Botox, and I just couldn't.

Plus the whole "I'm gonna take Paula and do a show and everyone's gonna watch us and not Idol" thing was just a turnoff. As is the feuding of these people. Nobody cares. Just do a good show, for a change.

They're kind of losing me as a fan because nothing is happening. I can't support musicians if they don't actually put out music or if they don't tour in my city.

I don't think they're famous or successful enough to actually tour, though. I guess Sebastian is somewhat successful due to TV, but they have no contract with the kind of label who can support them in any way, financially, do they? Or get them concerts? As musicians I see them as guys who competed six years ago on Canadian Idol and didn't even come close to winning. They maybe have 35 fans, or something. I mean Mookie is (I think) with Sony and even he doesn't tour, as far as I know. Plays shows in Toronto, I guess. Probably still lives at home? It's a tough business to crack, after all.

As for me, I have always only known of these people from long-distance. They're not likely to ever to come near me to play. Even Hedley, I'm still waiting on, to play around here, and they're a lot bigger than the Piggots. So I couldn't say that unless they come here, I won't be interested in them any more. It's the age of mass communication and YouTube. This is how most people see/hear their music. People who live in the middle of nowhere, etc. Just a thought.

It makes sense what you're saying ross. It's just that there's so much music available now and I go to so many shows already that going to YouTube doesn't do it for me. I would listen to music all the time, but sadly I can't do that. I bought 35 albums in 2011 and probably saw as many artists live. I devote already enough time to music that if an artist I like makes it harder for me to listen to their music/see them live, I lose interest. It's just the way it is for me. I'm somewhat loyal to the artists I love, but I'm also fickle and easily attracted to the shiny and new.

BTW, Hedley were on Star Académie last weekend. They did a medley of songs that included Invincible, One Day (?) and Perfect. I'll never be a Jacob fan, but he was very generous with the contestants who sang with them. I'll try to see if there's video somewhere.

Oh here is video of Hedley on Star Académie:

Hedley Star Académie le Variété 2012 - YouTube

My favorite so far is Jean-Marc, the first guy who sings with them. Too bad the girl wasn't too good on Perfect.

I don't know, never have really known, what about Jacob I like. He's maybe not 'groundbreaking' but he's unique. He may remind you of other singers or his music may follow trends, but there's this original artist who always is there, and an original person. He's just himself. And he does interesting things when he sings, with his voice, that make me smile, and it reminds me of Kris, though otherwise they aren't people I'd compare. Other than, I believe they're the same age..

Jacob singing with the guy you like reminded me of when he sang with Shane Wiebe, just for a second. It's unusual to see anyone doing duets and trios, rock singers, I mean, but I get tired of the same ol' format and that was refreshing.

(I totally missed Idol! Ooops!) Are we in Hollywood yet?

It was nice to see Jacob in a mentorish role. Very cool.

and re the remix - we can't always like the same things, LOL - It's all good.

Toby posted that Kris's single is being used in the PSA he's doing for Donor's Choose. (Which is super cool) .. and he posted a snippet can be heard here.

KRIS ALLEN: VISION OF LOVE featured in new PSA for Clear Channel Communities DONORS CHOOSE campaign! | Toby Knapp - Washington DC's Hit Music NOW

Sounds vastly different from the remix. I'm intrigued...

Hollywood week brought the drama, and the fainting, and the illness, and some really good performances.

I'm kinda intrigued by Reed Grimm. First of all.. cool name. Then the whole I have to call my Mom drama, and then spur of the moment drum performance turned out pretty interesting.

I admit that when he was talking to his mom I was thinking to myself "suck it up sunshine start working on the performance you don't have a lot of time". He was working with Kat McPhee's mom though so I understand his worry about her advice :p

The young country girl was good, she had nice stage presence. There were some good performances overall.

I've liked these last Hollywood episodes, but I can't say I've really loved anyone so far. Some good performances, some intriguing ones, but I haven't really been wowed that much. Reed Grimm is intriguing, but I'm definitely on the fence about him. I bet he'll just flame out like Casey Abrams did last year. Oh and I bet that Joshua Ledet is the Jacob Lusk of this year. When he started his solo song, I was like, nice tone, but then he added all those crazy runs that the judges loved and I had a nightmare vision of Jacob Lusk. No thanks! Jen Hirsch seems pretty good. HeeJun is both awesome and incredibly annoying, he'll get on my nerves pretty fast. There was a lot of love for Colton doing the Daughtry song on my twitter timeline, but I thought he sounded whinny. Creighton Fraker also has an incredibly whinny voice, but his solo song was excellent.

Well, that's it for some random thoughts about the contestants so far. Tonight's Vegas episode should be interesting.

Both of you might be reading my mind.

My Jacob Lusk-dar went off big-time when Joshua was on. Plus his vocal tone is awful, or close to awful. I doubt the new judges/team are vocal tone lovers, anyway. Which is why they gave us Stefano. JLo and Steven, the two singer/judges, are maybe not examples of beautiful tone, themselves. Perhaps they are in denial that it can kinda help a singer. Sorta rounds out the performance, for me. To my ears a lot of the seemingly favored people are more adept at The Big Performance than at good singing.

Reed...well, let me ask you, did you guys buy that little sub-plot? Does the guy really have the attention span depicted on the show (roughly that of a 9 year old)? Did he and the band really pull that off at the last minute? Doesn't it take some rehearsal - like, maybe an hour of rehearsal? And camera/lighting rehearsal, as well? Just winged it, eh? What is this, an old movie musical?

I think he has a good voice but that little bit made me absolutely loathe him. Acting like a goofy, helpless, idiot is a total turnoff.

I'm already confusing Creighton and Colton. Which is which? Who is the guy whose eyes are father apart than Craig Sharpe's? He sang okay but I don't see how he can see.
