Kadr was tortured therefore nothing he admitted to has any legal validity.

People admit whatever you want them to admit under torture which is why it is such a poor way to gather information, among other things.

In fact, torture is an utterly useless way of getting intelligence as the victim will say whatever you tell them to say to stop the torture. Perhaps it may make the torturer feel successful "You see! He said EXACTLY what I said that he would." but the information derived is totally valueless.

Over 12 he she is.

I would agree with Hoid that Omar Khadr was badly treated- BY YANKEES! BUT WE CDNS HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY for the khrap his vile parents persuaded him to get involved with! Nor do we have ANY obligation to compensate him for the khrap he got into while on the other side of the world!

Consider this handy biography of the Khadr family:

A quick sketch of Omar Khadr's family
The Canadian Press. July 24, 2017. 10:32 AM EDT

TORONTO -- A quick sketch of news-making members of the Toronto-based family of Omar Khadr:

Ahmed Said Khadr

Born in Egypt, Omar Khadr's father moved to Canada in 1977, where he met and married Maha Elsamnah. Khadr fought the Soviets in Afghanistan in the 1980s where U.S. authorities allege he befriended Osama bin Laden and became a "founding member" and financier of al-Qaida. His family says he did both charity work and ran orphanages in Afghanistan and Pakistan in the 1980s and 1990s. Arrested in connection with the bombing of the Egyptian embassy in Islamabad in 1995, Khadr was released in 1996 with the help of then-prime minister Jean Chretien. Khadr died in a gun battle with Pakistani forces near the Afghanistan border in October 2003.

--

Maha Elsamnah

Omar Khadr's Palestinian mother moved with her husband and six children to Afghanistan in the 1980s. She returned to Canada in 2004 to seek medical treatment for her son Karim after he was injured in the same firefight that killed her husband. Elsamnah claims to have no association with al-Qaida, but admitted years ago that when the planes hit the World Trade Center in 2001, she thought to herself, "let them have it." She was also quoted as saying she moved her family from Canada in the 1980s because of "drug addicts" and "homosexuals."

--

Zaynab Khadr

Ottawa-born Zaynab, 37, is the eldest child of Ahmed Said Khadr and Maha Elsamnah. It's alleged bin Laden attended her first wedding in 1999. She returned to live in Canada in February 2005 and was the subject of RCMP investigations for allegedly aiding al-Qaida. She has married four times. Her third ex-husband, Canadian Joshua Boyle, kidnapped near Kabul in 2012, remains hostage with his American wife. At last word, Zaynab Khadr was in custody in Turkey.

--

Abdullah Khadr

Abdullah, 36, born in Ottawa, is the eldest son of Ahmed Said Khadr and Maha Elsamnah. He denied running an al-Qaida training camp in Afghanistan in the 1990s. He returned to Canada on Dec. 7, 2005, after spending a year in custody in Pakistan in which he was tortured. He was arrested in Toronto in December 2005 at the request of U.S. authorities on charges of conspiracy to kill Americans and accused of buying arms and ammunition for al-Qaida militants in Afghanistan. Federal Court freed him more than four years later on the grounds U.S. authorities had abused his rights in Pakistan. He lives in Toronto.

--

Abdurahman Khadr

The second eldest son, Abdurahman, 34, called himself the "black sheep" of the Khadrs and said he separated from the family after Sept. 11. He was arrested in Afghanistan as a suspected al-Qaida member in November 2001. He claimed he began working for the CIA and giving information on al-Qaida operatives in Kabul. He was transferred to Guantanamo Bay in early 2003 where he said he was asked to spy on the prison population. Abdurahman admitted on TV he was "raised to become a suicide bomber." He returned to Canada in October 2003. He lives in Toronto and is a father.

--

Omar Khadr

Omar Khadr, 30, was born in Toronto to Ahmed Said Khadr and Maha Elsamnah. He also lived in Pakistan and Afghanistan. U.S. special forces found the 15-year-old badly wounded in July 2002 after they attacked a compound in Afghanistan where his father had sent him. In October 2010, Khadr pleaded guilty before a widely condemned U.S. military commission to five war crimes, including to having thrown a hand grenade that killed an American special forces soldier.

(Whatever information he may have told Yankee interrogators during his stay at Gitmo is irrelevant- all that matters is his efforts to FIGHT against the western powers! He is a traitor from a Family of traitors and we can thank LIE-berals for the presence of these foul vipers in our midst- sucking up our welfare ad our medical services and contributing nothing but trouble!)

---

Abdul Karim Khadr

Karim, 28, is the youngest son of Ahmed Said Khadr and Maha Elsamnah. He was paralyzed from the waist down in the same gun battle that killed his father in Pakistan in 2003. He returned with his mother to Canada in April 2004 to seek medical treatment and lives in Toronto.

(The Harper govt sought to bar Abdul from returning to Canada and gave up when it became obvious that Abdul would die swiftly if he did not have nearly daily access to Cdn medical treatment for his veyr crippling wounds- such treatment is NOT available in any country willing to take the vile Khadr Klan!)

This is the introduction to a paper that addresses, in large part, the changing role of the CF on the world stage. We're not just peacekeeping anymore. This was published in 2010. Check the table of contents.

excerpt from Current Canadian Forces Education and Training for Moral and Ethical Decision Making in Operations
---

Abstract

The Canadian Forces’ (CF) role on the international stage has substantially changed over the past decade. For most of the latter part of the twentieth century, the CF primarily participated in peacekeeping missions (e.g., the former Yugoslavia, Rwanda, etc.). Though these operations were typically restricted to non-coercive, diplomatic efforts to uphold a volatile peace agreement between two domestic warring factions, many CF members confronted tough moral and ethical dilemmas while in operations (Thomson, Adams, & Sartori, 2006).

With its most recent deployment to southern Afghanistan (Kandahar province), there is also a high probability that CF members will face moral and ethical dilemmas. The CF is involved in counterinsurgent operations on a regular basis, and unlike conventional state-to-state wars, these wars are fought among the people that both insurgent and counterinsurgent forces are trying to win over. Insurgents wage political war through military means, making it extremely difficult for opposing forces to win the hearts and minds of the people they are meant to protect. They also employ strategies and tactics that violate widely held international conventions for waging war. It is important, therefore, to gain a better understanding of the CF’s perspective on moral and ethical decision making in order to enhance operational effectiveness in such situations.

Dealing with moral and ethical decisions should first be done by Parliament.

We are currently in a state of perpetual war on request. We seem to be committed to things like bombing Libya before they even happen and we take part in them without our Parliament voting to go to war.

When Canadians fought and died in the Great War the upshot was supposed to be that we had earned the right of self determination and that we would not simply be committed to war when the King went to war.

That great sacrifice was in vain. Later generations of immoral Canadian politicians and indifferent Canadian voters allowed this hard won right and obligation to be simply tossed away when we decided to be what we have become.

Military actions are solely the responsibility of the executive. Parliament does not need to be consulted.

If you don't like the activity, you get to vote against the gov't......next time.

War can only be declared by Parliament.

Therefore call is a military action and duck making that hard choice.

Obviously they make the hard choice when they choose to call it a "military action".

It's been a long, long, LONG time since we or any of the other Western powers declared war on anybody. The last time we did was against the Japanese Empire.

How very sad that LIE-berals do not wish to recognize that we HAVE been at war for the last SEVENTY FIVE YEARS! First against the Soviet Union and later against The World Wide Caliphate which seeks to impose Sharia Law on us- just as soon as enough Muslims kill each other so that the survivors can agree on which version they fully support!

Here is an article illustrating how easy it is for radical Muslims to wear out their welcome and it gives hints of what we Cdns may expect if LIE-berals carry out their immigration plans-with some comments of my own in brackets):

French poll Islam shocker

By Brad Hunter, Toronto Sun. First posted: Tuesday, March 28, 2017 05:04 PM EDT | Updated: Tuesday, March 28, 2017 05:46 PM EDT

French riot police officers stand next to Muslims praying in the street during a protest in front of the city hall of Clichy, near Paris, on March 24, 2017, after an unauthorised place of worship was closed by local authorities. (AFP/PHOTO)

(An unauthorized place of worship? It is likely the meeting place was deficient in meeting various fire code regulations. That is the usual reason for closing a place of worship.)

A shocking new poll reveals that a majority of French people believe Islam is incompatible with the nation’s ideals.

The results have been plunging ever since the Charlie Hebdo attacks in 2015 and each terrorist outrage drives the results down further.

The Ipsos poll showed that 61% of French adults surveyed believe that Islam and the way it is practiced doesn’t gibe with modern France.

(Nothing better than gunfire and murder in the streets to dismay voters-this si something we Cdns can look forward to as our LIE-berals monkey with immigration law in order to buy supporters and to hell with consequences! LIE-beral power is the only justice needed in their poisoned minds! )

Just 6% believe Roman Catholicism is incompatible and 17% believe Judaism doesn’t work in France.

But 94% said Catholicism is compatible along with 83%, who said Judaism was compatible.

In addition, 79% of the survey want headscarves banned on university campuses, another 77% want the burkini banned.

The country is in the wake of a hotly contested election with right-wing nationalist Marine Le Pen poised to make serious gains.

The poll - Ipsos contacted 1,000 adults over the internet between March 16 and 17 - has revealed what most politicians already know: There is a growing divide between the nation’s large Muslim minority and the majority.

Already, France has a nationwide law banning full-face veils.

More than 90% of those polled said secularism was vital to France.

(The Ontari-owe Peel School Board is wrestling with the issue of letting Muslim students preach as they see fit on school property-previously Muslims had to work from a school board approved list of prayers and speeches but Muslims consider it is racist to make them honour standard Cdn values!)

Among the other findings: 75% believe there is too much talk about religion in politics, and 72% said politicians shouldn’t display their religious affiliation.

But one of the survivors of last summer’s Bastille Day terror attack in Nice said she fears ISIS and racists in equal measure. Hanane Charrihi - a Moroccan immigrant - lost her mom in the attack that killed 86.

“I’m living in fear of Daesh- the Islamic State group- like everyone else, but also in fear of racists,” she told AFP. “When I take the metro in Paris, I stay away from the edge. I’m terrified someone might give me a push.”

(This is the sort of atmosphere that LIE-beral style politics creates-when you put the wants of an opinionated minority ahead of the majority you get this sort of angry push back-and if you then label the push back as “Islamophobia” and suggest it is racist and irrational as our LIE-berals have done you create a witches brew of voter anger!)

Send therm under LIE-berals and you get them standing around WATCHING as locals get massacred! Just line in Rwanda when Cdn Romeo Dallaire sought LIE-beral or UN permission to take over the Rwandan military arsenal so rioters would not be so heavily armed! And Dallaire also sought Cdn or UN permission for his troops- INCLUDING a dozen Belgian paratroopers to fire on their attackers!

LIE-berals ALL DUCKED AND COVERED- NO ANSWER to Dallaire seeking permission to DO THE RIGHT THING! If Cdns go to Mali they WILL NEED HEAVY WEAPONS- including helicopter gunships AND permission to fire freely at threats!

And you know Our idiot Boy Justin will NOT want his photo ops messed up with body parts and bloodshed- especially if it is CDN!

So the troops will spend their time in barracks or "patrolling" in areas known to be safe- just like in Medac/Bosnia- till all the locals are massacred and there is nobody left to PRETEND to protect!
