Once the explosions stop in Syria and Iraq the construction contracts will be given out, that is where the real money will be for the next 20 years.

Think garage sale. Recycle rather than replace.
It isn't like we have any shortage time to do that. Family business make a comeback and as long as there are no monopolies we will do just fine. We don't need to grow a lot to feed ourselves, trying to wear bread to stay warm in the winter would be stupid. Take our old and otherwise useless ones to Mexico. The checks only keep coming if they are still alive.

.Where you come up with that Feminem?

If that were true, it's wickedly good news for SK but alas....

I saw it on a video news piece on the oil sands.

It is based on the cost if transported by rail and our current infrastructure.

Obviously it would be cheaper (and more environmentally friendly) by pipeline, but our track record on those projects is pretty spotty.

The break-even price of tar sands oil is around $100 per barrel if transported by rail, according to Anthony Swift, a staff attorney at NRDC (which publishes OnEarth). Tar sands oil sells for $75 on a good day. So producers have to find a savings of $25 per barrel somewhere in order to make it worth the investment.

A quick quote....

Major Canadian oilsands companies can run their existing operations profitably in a sub-$50 oil-price environment,

Your jealousy is waaaasasy over the top.

Ever heard of conventional oil? Is that oilsands too?

Track record of transporting oil by rail is not exactly so stellar... Explosive is a more apt description

What are tar sands and why do they cost double that of oil sands to extract?

Tar is just a step above coke after all the goodies are gone but let's not tell PoopsieFloss, it's fun to highlight his ignorance.

Why Alberta's oil is likely to stay in the ground

"To get an operation up and running, oil needs to sell for at least $100. Any lower than that, and it's not even worth digging."

Hey look! It's the oil sands queen the former Deputy Prime minister getting the Order of Alberta from AB Cons for her hard work getting the oil sands on the world stage.

It's kind of a stupid statement.................most countries in the world are headed for if not in a recession and Canada less so than any of them.
