The current head of the Homeland Security used to be the governor of Arizona and was largely ineffective in preventing illegal entries all along her border with Mexico but then that would have angered all those businesses that relied upon the cheap labour from the southern neighbour. No cheap labour from Canada! Her replacement at least has the cojones to stand up for whats right.

We (Canada) are also known as a nation of law abiding citizens who will not object or resort to the courts as long as their (U.SofA.) demands are even halfways reasonable, again unlike their southern neighbour who sue them everytime one the states enacts an immigration law to try to stem the tide of illegals.

In short they bad mouth us because they know we won't bite back. We simply consider where it comes from and shrug it off as another belicose issuance of retarded dimensions.

Hmmmmm. If keeping people out of America is the responsibility of Americans what the hell does this have to do with Canadians?

Absolutely nothing, but you don't think the americans are going to shoulder the blame themselves do you? So much easier for them to point a finger at someone else. I'm sure you have met people in the past that have a problem accepting responsibility.

Here is who I first heard say it, others after her were just parroting her.

Janet Napolitano (Democrat) is at it again — this time earning the partially justified derision of Canadians after suggesting that 9/11 terrorists entered the U.S. through the northern border: The furor began when Napolitano was asked to clarify statements she had made about equal treatment for the Mexican and Canadian borders, despite the fact that a flood of illegal immigrants and a massive drug war are two serious issues on the southern border.
“Yes, Canada is not Mexico, it doesn’t have a drug war going on, it didn’t have 6,000 homicides that were drug-related last year,” she said.
“Nonetheless, to the extent that terrorists have come into our country or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it’s been across the Canadian border. There are real issues there.”
When asked if she was referring to the 9-11 terrorists, Napolitano added: “Not just those but others as well.”

John McCain says 9-11 terrorists came from Canada

The Canadian Press

WASHINGTON -- John McCain is the latest high-profile politician to repeat the diehard American falsehood that the 9-11 terrorists entered the United States through Canada.

Just days after Janet Napolitano, the U.S. homeland security secretary, sparked a diplomatic kerfuffle by suggesting the terrorists took a Canadian route to the U.S. eight years ago, McCain defended her by saying that, in fact, the former Arizona governor was correct.

"Well, some of the 9-11 hijackers did come through Canada, as you know," McCain, last year's Republican presidential candidate, said on Fox News on Friday.

The problem is, and what continues to piss me off no end, is that these people are SUPPOSED to be "in the know". The american public expect them to know what is what and when they say crap like this, the public believe them and the myth is reinforced and continues.

I know, that was quite a topic when they said it. Just glad he is not the President now, not happy with the current one either. :) It hasn't been a topic of conversation in years down here.
