Why , should we curtail our freedoms by doing and being less ? less is not more . 2000 years ago the chariot was the go to luxury , do you think we should go back ?
Burning fossil fuels has cumulative effects that are messing with the balance of the global ecosystem. Google ocean acidification. Google shrinking polar ice caps. Google changing weather patterns.

I’m not saying go back, but a little more care going forward is a great idea.

CA Agency May Scrap Electric Bus Fleet After Electric Buses Melt in California Sun, Catch Fire, Cost Too Much to Fix

The electric bus idea is going down in flames – literally.

A California transit official said electric buses manufactured by Proterra are melting in the California heat.

One electric bus caught fire while it was charging and the agency said the electric buses are just too expensive to fix.

An electric bus manufactured by Proterra caught fire while charging in a southern California city that is now considering taking the electric buses off the road, according to government records.
The Foothill Transit agency, which serves the valleys surrounding Los Angeles, will decide on Friday whether costly Proterra buses purchased in the last decade are still operable. Problems cited by the agency include not only the bus that caught fire in what’s described as a “thermal event,” but also buses that melt in the California heat and have transmission failures. Roland Cordero, the agency’s director of maintenance and vehicle technology, says the problems with the buses are exacerbated by Proterra’s inability to help with repairs.

“With the number of failures we are experiencing and the inability of Proterra to provide parts, these [Battery Electric Buses] BEBs will only get worse as we continue to operate them whenever the BEBs are available for service,” Cordero wrote ahead of Friday’s executive board meeting, where the agency will debate taking Proterra buses out of service.
Meanwhile Biden’s gargantuan ‘infrastructure’ plan allocates billions of dollars to expand electric vehicles and charging stations.

Trudeau giving another $5.2 billion to Newfoundland and Labrador for the Muskrat dam fiasco. They are calling it $13 billion to date, my guess is 20+.

Ramping spending up ahead of an election call according to the article. We'll see what he spends in the west where he knows it won't help him.

John Kerry head of Climate Change in the US

John Kerry says Earth has 9 years to avert the worst ...

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/climate-change-9-years-john-kerry/
Kerry said we have only a few years left to avoid a climate catastrophe. "Well, the scientists told us three years ago we had 12 years to avert the worst consequences of climate crisis.
Too funny! What was being said in the 70"s? Oh ya, the ice age was coming & we needed to be prepared. The climate has always changed, ALWAYS and will continue to do so. Nothing we do will change that. That is not saying we still can't move forward but it's unlikely that we will get rid of fossil fuels anytime soon. Maybe in 100 years or so when we have come up with "green energy" that is reliable because at present, it is not. Besides we'd also need to figure out how more consumer goods could be made without oil such as this computer that I'm using.

Those sneaky NG producers I bet they were behind the Green New Deal, it's being predicted in Britain that Oil energy will be cheaper than NG energy this winter

A couple of years ago they couldn't give that gas shiite away

Natural gas prices surging due in part to European green energy policies

As part of the EU's Green Deal, European countries shifted from coal-producing plants to less reliable, so-called renewable energy powered by wind.
