I think that it was the worst time to strike for them.

1) Just before the X-mas season but more than that, 2) they lost 748 million dollars in 2023, and 548 million in 2022.

No one will have any sympathy for them and the corp itself itself needs to be overhauled.

Looks like I'll be getting two checks after Christmas. Just in time for boxing week sales!

Just stumbled across this ad for…Canada Post, on the same day they’re announcing layoffs. Interesting & weird.

From the above link:

The union representing Canada Post workers says the Crown corporation has been laying off striking employees as the labour action by more than 55,000 workers approaches the two-week mark.

In a notice to members posted Monday, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers called the layoffs a "scare tactic" and said it's looking into the situation.

Canada Post spokeswoman Lisa Liu confirmed the layoffs, saying they are temporary.

Neither the union nor Canada Post provided details on the extent of the layoffs.

This could be a coincidence.

If they are striking, they are not working. How can they be laid off?

The other day I was out for a walk and saw a mail carrier. I asked him if the strike was over and he said no but he was delivering government cheques. So I guess some union workers are working delivering mail for the one party that could force an end to the strike by back to work legislation.
