This evening we gaze upon some solemn
black & white images of some of the thousands of volunteers cleaning up the Bowness neighbourhood in NW Calgary. Taken by photographer Shaun Robinson, they provide a wonderful example of how effective the lack of colour in photographs can be in certain circumstances. Recommended background music while viewing the photos is provided by Canadian artist,
Loreena McKennitt. Attentive viewers will notice that one of the volunteers is an Olympic class speed skater who was born in Romania but now is very much a proud Albertan.
Your solemn or witty reader tips are welcome, as always, in the comments.
