I think that G.W. Bush may also have been called a discouraging name or two. ;-)

It is one thing to be called a ‘name or two’, Ron. Every president has to put up with that. With Obama it is a continuous, non stop barrage, it started even before he took office. For instance, was Bush called a Socialist and a Fascist at the same time? Was Bush called a Communist and a Nazi at the same time? I think not. Was Bush called a Muslim terrorist? I think not.

There is something about the fellow that makes his opponents blind with rage, blind with hatred (incidentally, as the recent thread about me has shown, I also produce similar reaction in some posters).

I still think that Bush Jr. (below) still was called many more nasty
things, more often, and still is.....than Obama.....at this point.

But in all fairness, Obama (below) is in his first year in the White
House (& yes....nasty things where said about Junior in his run to
the Oval Office too) and we should see where the next 7yrs takes
him.

Bush wasn't called a Moslem or a Communist at the same time.

Obama wasn't called a Frat-Boy War Monger who's only made it
anywhere in the World by riding on Daddies coat-tails and hid from
military service in the Coast Guard though, has he?

It all balances out. :lol::lol:

OK Ron, so which is worse? To be called a Muslim and a Communist or to be accused of riding daddy’s coattails (which many people do)? I don’t know about you, but in my opinion, to be called a Muslim and a Communist is much worse.

And I am not even sure if being accused of riding daddy’s coattails is derogatory. I think many people who do ride their daddy’s coattails won’t mind admitting it, perhaps may even mention the fact with pride. They will point out proudly that their daddy is somebody. After all, if daddy spends money on someone (buys his son or daughter a house or a car etc.), he will accept it with pride, so why shouldn’t he accept some influence peddling on his daddy’s part?

Like suppose daddy gets you a job (or makes you a vice president in his company), would you turn it down? May be you would, but most people wouldn’t.

Northern Ontario,
So here's Fox news, September 15th, asking where the mainstream media is in covering this story.
Where Is Mainstream Media on Undercover ACORN Videos? - Hannity - FOXNews.com

Where, or rather when were they covering it?
Here's the NYTimes on September 11:
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/12/us/politics/12acorn.html?_r=1

ABC, on September 10th:
ACORN Fires 2 After Hidden-Camera Footage Aired - ABC News

See, frequently Fox commentators will make these claims, without even checking. It's very easy to use Google's algortihms. Type, click, and bam. Simple.

Check it out, Reuters, WPost, Wall Street Journal, they were all on it.

No, of course I do. But I try very hard to make sure my bias isn't leading me to make claims that are demonstrably false.

Toni: My sincere apologies.....I missed this one on the Sept 11th on CNN

YouTube - CNN Investigation of Acorn Prostitution Rings

You have full permission to rub my nose in it:lol:
An I will not post a rebuttal:-(

SirJP kindly keep your nose out of it:angryfire:

Ya but, you think it's perfectly acceptable to step in front of people that need a flu shot and take theirs so, your view of the world (and what is and isn't OK) is pretty ****ed up.

Did you miss what I wrote? Fox harped about the other networks on the 15th. the NYT reported on the story on the 11th, ABC on the 10th.

Why does Fox get more views? Because their news director knows human psychology. If you have two folks on stage both claiming to have the solution to the Middle East, one has a good argument, the other falls into the orchestra pit, who will the viewers remember most? The one who falls off the stage. That's the guy who gets put on the news. Not the guy with the logical and persuasive argument, but the loon who fell into the pit, got up, and cracked a good joke.

Sensationalist. It sells.

See, you repeat that sensationalism, like 'the left wing media hides is', and it doesn't matter if you're wrong. I give you examples, and you throw something else up like ACORN, and again, it's wrong.

FOX just happens to be way better at it than the other networks. It's psychology! Human nature!

I did miss it, the older post had more interesting stuff to talk about though. Did you know that about the Fox News director? It's why the channel leads all the other news channels. He had a case study though, a failed network that billed itself as a conservative network. That's another change that was important for Fox news, to attract moderates.

Possibly? Could be a case of keeping your enemies close too. Hard to say! Fun to guess.

It's true what they say that in 20 years you can turn from being a Liberal to being a Conservative without changing a single idea, but the multitude of tv channels and all the information available helps us change our mind on many subjects, but I will always remain a fiscal conservative and a little more middle of road on the social side;-)
You have a good way to change a guy's mind on certain things...but you'll never make a Liberal out of me:lol:
