Richard Cordray wins the Democratic nomination for governor in Ohio, defeating former congressman Dennis Kucinich

The Associated Press has projected Cordray, the former head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as the winner. Cordray had the backing of Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Kucinich had cast himself as the populist and dismissed establishment Democrats. Cordray had highlighted his appointment by former president Barack Obama to the consumer watchdog post.

Cordray will face the Republican nominee in the crucial presidential swing state. Republican Gov. John Kasich is term-limited.

with due respect: let's not get ahead of ourselves. The stage where things are at with NK......is that a meeting date and tie has been set. Putting them in their place is not the issue. or the objective .. )... Working out a deal that will satisfy both parties....... is the objective.

It is a process.......NOT an instant fix.

The return of the three hostages is a good faith gesture on Kim's part. And a very positive one. Kim is playing this chess game rather smartly..........and seems to have read Trump'''s character accurately. The only card that Trump has is just more punitive sanctions that would really hurt the PEOPLE there .....Their suffering is then the responsibility of BOTH Kim and TRUMP Of course Trump has his own motives ..

It has NOTHING to do with gender. IF she is incompetent.......then make that the issue in a TACTFUL diplomatic and PRIVATE manner.... Not a circus of humiliation which is just sadistic. What happened to treating people as human beings. ?? This Is now toxic SWAMP a la Trump.

How long would anyone last if they treated their staff the way trump treats his staff and others.??

Your whole rant is based on an anonymous source, from your article

In a statement, Ms. Nielsen said she intended to “continue to direct the department to do all we can to implement the president’s security-focused agenda.” She said Mr. Trump was “rightly frustrated that existing loopholes and the lack of congressional action have prevented this administration from fully securing the border.”
Tyler Q. Houlton, a spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security, disputed that Ms. Nielsen had drafted a resignation letter and was close to resigning, calling those assertions “false.”

You will be deeply embarrassed when Trump is arrested.

I would never call you dumb and ignorant in front of a large audience! For every 100 people arrested there are perhaps 20 who are charged and 10 who are convicted and five who are guilty. You are a little slow on the uptake, after 11/2 years in office he has yet to be arrested, charged or convicted midst dozens of predictions of impeachment. When you quit crying "wolf" you might start being believed!

You will be deeply embarrassed when Trump is arrested.

Looks like you have one follower whose mentality is similar to yours.

Trump defends 'animals' remark, says he'll always use it

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday defended his use of the word "animals" to describe some immigrants who enter the country illegally, saying he would continue to use the term to refer to violent gang members, in spite of a sharp rebuke from Democratic leaders. Answering a reporter's question during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, Trump said his comment a day earlier had clearly been directed at members of the MS-13 gang.
"MS-13, these are animals coming onto our country," Trump said, repeating his language from Wednesday. He added: "When the MS-13 comes in, when the other gang members come into our country, I refer to them as animals. And guess what? I always will." Trump has been under fire for comments he made Wednesday while railing against California for its so-called sanctuary immigration policies. Trump was speaking at a roundtable with local California officials when he responded to a comment that had referenced MS-13.
"We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — and we're stopping a lot of them," Trump said after Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims complained about state restrictions that limit co-operation with federal immigration authorities. "You wouldn't believe how bad these people are. These aren't people. These are animals."
Trump has repeatedly referred to members of the violent street gang as "animals" in speeches, rallies and at White House events. He has also used the term to describe terrorists and school shooters.
Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer of New York responded on Twitter to the president, saying, "When all of our great-great-grandparents came to America they weren't 'animals,' and these people aren't either."
And House minority leader Nancy Pelosi said, "Every day that you think you've seen it all, along comes another manifestation of why their policies are so inhumane."

'Absolutely unacceptable'

Mexico's Foreign Ministry sent a formal diplomatic letter to the U.S. State Department complaining that Trump's comments were "absolutely unacceptable." The ministry released a statement saying such comments create a difficult climate for Mexicans living in the United States.
