Trump issues executive orders seeking to speed up oil and gas pipeline projects by making it harder for states to intervene

The orders are a response to the oil and gas industry, which has complained that pipeline delays caused by high-profile protests and court battles have slowed expanded production.

Critics say the new orders trample on powers granted to states by the Clean Water Act and other legislation.

Fortunately for the forces of good Trump is incapable of drafting a legal EO.

GOP Texas lawmaker reintroduces bill to allow death penalty for women who have abortions

A Republican state lawmaker in Texas has reintroduced a bill that would criminalize abortion without exception, making it possible for women to be convicted of homicide and sentenced to death for having the procedure.
Texas state Rep. Tony Tinderholt (R) was placed under state protection in 2017 when he first introduced the bill because of the death threats he received, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.

His bill earned its first public hearing this week, and he argued that his intention is to guarantee “equal protection” for life inside and "outside the womb.”
He has previously said that his proposal would completely remove access to abortions and “force” women to be “more personally responsible” with sex.
“Right now, it’s real easy," Tinderholt told the Texas Observer in 2017. "Right now, they don’t make it important to be personally responsible because they know that they have a backup of ‘oh, I can just go get an abortion.’ Now, we both know that consenting adults don’t always think smartly sometimes. But consenting adults need to also consider the repercussions of the sexual relationship that they’re gonna have, which is a child.”

Bill That Would Criminalize Miscarriages Likely To Be Signed By Georgia Governor

Georgia Republican Governor Brian Kemp is reportedly expected to sign the extremely controversial and restrictive anti-abortion bill that could even result in prosecution of miscarriages. The infamous “heartbeat” bill passed the Senate with on a party-line vote of 34-18, and it would ban abortions after the heartbeat of the fetus can be detected. It still needs House approval before Kemp can sign it into law, though.
The proposal of this law in Georgia is not the first one of its kind, though. A similar law was signed in Mississippi on Friday, and it set to go into effect in July.
One of the biggest problems with it is that fetal heartbeat is typically detected at six weeks, and most women don’t even know they’re pregnant around that point.
State Senator Jen Jorden said in her dissent that the bill takes it much, much further, and any woman who suffers a miscarriage could be subject to scrutiny regarding whether or not she intentionally acted to cause the miscarriage.
The state of Georgia would be empowered to investigate whether there was any human intervention in causing any miscarriages, and it’s one truly dangerous proposition.
As it is at the moment, it’s very possible that the State of Georgia could pursue women for miscarriages, which is a natural biological process that ends more than a quarter of pregnancies! So, women would be required to protect a fetus they often don’t even know they’re carrying.
Jordan said that women would be at risk for any perceived destructive behavior during pregnancy that could potentially cause miscarriage, such as smoking, drinking, driving under the influence, using legal medications, or any other “dangerous” conduct. Any issue of whether the woman intended to cause her miscarriage would be a jury question, according to her.
And, even though this sounds like some dystopian thing that is taking place in the Handmaid’s Tale, it sure isn’t.

National Enquirer expected to be sold imminently as parent company faces pressure over tabloid's efforts to help Trump win in 2016

American Media Inc.'s board of directors is selling its tabloid brands, including the National Enquirer. The company, which started discussing a sale of the tabloids in August, has been under economic pressure and faces scrutiny from federal law enforcement as it has struggled to distance itself from the Enquirers efforts to tilt the 2016 presidential election in favor of Donald Trump, a longtime friend of AMI President and CEO David Pecker.

Between the national enquirer........and Russia & Wikileaks one might almost think the election was suspect........ Can't wait to see how 2020 unfolds. and which outside nations and parties will help Trump"win"??

It is as crazy as killing in the name of "god"

human evolution is very slow........;-) .....slower in some areas than others .
Yes it is very easy to understand why human evolution is so slow . In America they are still denying election results from over two years ago . In Britain the legislators can’t seem to understand the will of the people . Here in Canada our illustrious PM changes his story daily . Yes some people refuse to learn .

A little unorthodox I suppose for the 21st century. :)
A little unorthodox for the 12th century. Even then, they didn't execute people for having abortions. It would have happened all of the time, too.

"Pro Life" ... gotta love the evil hypocricy of the Evangelicals.
