Minister defies order to stay put, used Gov't aircraft solo

Health Minister Patricia Hajdu repeatedly flew home by government aircraft on weekends while advising Canadians not to travel. Flight records show Hajdu made solo trips from Ottawa to her residence in Thunder Bay even while telling the public: “Do not go visit your family, do not visit your friends, do not go out and about unless it’s essential.”

How many scandals can a government weather? How much controversy, corruption, hypocrisy and double standard are people willing to endure? Anyone? Anyone??

The flyers and marching in racism protests... I wonder if he marches in his traditional black face to express his solidarity
wonder how many Trudeau haters refused the funds that came to them due to the pandemic crisis.....

He has made mistakes. Naive mistakes. No question. But he is capable of apologizing and trying to do better. THAT is a lot more than many other arrogant leaders on the planet.

If folks can do his job better.......then go for it.

Funds were debated by all parties, and it was a Gov. shutdown agreed to July 6th, money being dolled out now are being done without parliament debate or over sight. A lot of us out West are back to work, no need for full shutdown now just due diligence and control of hotspots and we will be fine.

A goddamned inanimate carbon rod could do a better job than the reckless clown in charge right now. Unfortunately enough people would have to vote for the carbon rod, that's how it works. In rod we trust.

As for his apology, the only thing I find naive is your hapless and pathetic inability to see systematic corruption and call it out for what it is. I'm sure you have noticed that he only apologizes after he's caught...he's not sorry for creating corrupt schemes, he's sorry people find out about them and call them out. And he's DEFINITELY sorry that every other Canadian who he's siphoning tax money from can't see his profound master plan of wealth transfer and corrupt cronyism, showering money over his friends "charity" groups and in extension...to his personal family members. there is certainly a lot of naivete in your comment.

Finally, regarding the acceptance of emergency funds, I don't think anyone of any political leaning faults Trudeau for providing emergency aid to thousands of Canadians who needed it when they suddenly lost their jobs. What they fault him for is the inability for him to control himself with his ongoing uncontrolled and unaccountable multi-billion dollar giveaway. His emergency aid, has turned into transparent shameless vote buying and corrupt cronyism. We already had programs set up to assist students, we didn't need another one. His favorite WE charity, however, needed a billion dollar bailout, which he tried to provide but got caught. And the CERB has gone from being a temporary 3 month emergency program to help with immediate aid, to an income replacement program that will now continue on through till next year...at the earliest. Very interesting considering all we have been hearing from Liberal supporters and media lapdogs the last week is how fast Canada's economy has rebounded and how the unemployment rate has apparently stabilized.

good points. But let's not get over confident. This virus is unpredictable. Hot spots can erupt from careless gatherings
Plus we have a fair number of people coming in from the US......and some are not following the protocols. It is sad to see how stupidly arrogant they can be. Their attitude of entitlement is their Achilles heel.

Even with the so-called closed border we still have a significant number of people crossing the border from America into Canada. We need to watch these people closely and make sure they follow the rules.

Harper did a far superior job.

Harper turned a $13.8 billion surplus into a $5.8 billion deficit in 22 months.

Outstanding!

Yes its a waste of taxpayer money to save the country from collapse.

Another brilliant point.

Harper was in power as the PM for more than 22 months. Here's some background on your statement:

During Harper's tenure, Canada had budgetary surpluses from 2006 to 2008 of $13.8 and 9.6 billion respectively (Compare that to Justin Trudeau's first two or even four years as PM). Following the 2008 financial crisis, Canada ran deficits from 2009-2013. The deficit was $55.6 billion in 2009 and was gradually lowered to $5.2 billion in 2013. In 2014, the federal budget was balanced with a surplus of $1.9 billion. For the first 11 months of the 2015-2016 period, the federal government was on track for a $7.5 billion surplus.

For 2015-2016, the federal government projected a $1.4-billion surplus. Following the 2015 federal election and a change in government, the 2015 fiscal year ended in a $1 billion deficit instead. In 2010, Canada had the lowest debt-to-GDP ratio in the G7 economies. The Economist magazine stated that Canada had come out the recession stronger than any other rich country in the G7. In 2013, Canada came out with Global Markets Action Plan to generate employment opportunities for Canadians.

How do you think he would have dealt with the Pandemic??
I believe he would have dealt with it like he did with the 2008-2009 Global Financial Crisis, and lead us out the other side like he did with that same crisis. How do you think Justin Trudeau would have dealt with the 2008-2009 Global Financial Crisis with his concept of the budget balancing itself?
