Actually it was out and out murder! Let's call a spade a spade.
No - lets call truth truth. It was not out and out murder. Murder is planned and while I do not support what happened, I do know that not a single officer went there planning to kill anyone. It was a situation that was not planned at all and that is the main problem with the whole scene. Had any planning or thinking of any kind gone into it, it simply would not have gone down as it did. It's that kind of thinking from people like yourself JLM that gets other people riled up in an un-necessary manner. You would like a linch mob where none is required.
A man died when he should not have but it was not murder.
If you happen to run a red light or miss a stop sign and you plow into another car, killing the driver - should you be charged with murder?
You have to remember that the taser was relatively new when that event happened. That Polish man was
the seventh person killed in Canada and the 110th in North America, Right now the total deaths due to
taser use is 692 in North America.
If the training was much like my son had and I believe it would be, it's certainly more than a video. I also do not know if RCMP are required to "experience" it's use. My son was not required to but the chances of him ever having to use one are almost zero in his line of work.
692 people dead by taser tells me no one should be allowed to use it. People do have to remember that a police officer cannot always just quietly walk up to a person and tell them they are under arrest and have the person stand ready for the cuffs. It's instinct for most "bad guys" to fight. Then when the arresting officer fights back, we have police brutality. They tried to find a way around that with the taser which obviously has not worked and so many people are saying "what was wrong with the old way". The call of brutality is what's wrong. How does the person who is not involved know the strength of the person fighting the officer and how far the officer has to go to stop the person and actually arrest them? People take and show selective photo's. How often do you see a video of someone beating the officer? Never. I've never seen or heard anyone say "police brutalized".
The mindset was there that they had no concern about the man's safety or well being!
That's just not true. They got a call from airport security. They barged in there thinking they had to protect the other occupants of the airport. Now they got an overblown story that they should have verified and assessed but they did not but again - they did not enter the bldg. with the intent to kill. Juan is a man who thinks things through before flying off the handle. He checks out his facts. You should google "manslaughter in Canada" definitions since you so want these men charged with murder.
