Makes a body wonder why the gummint spends all that money keeping statistics and records, when they can get all the answers they need by asking you and JLM what y'all saw on your last trip to the store.
I agree , I hate governments wasting money .

Slogans are pretty good too. During the campaign BC Liberal signs had "MORE JOBS!" stickers plastered on them. It seems to be the primary reason why people like JLM, who evidently know nothing about jobs and the economy, support the Liberals.

Another one of your typical posts that are wrong about so many things! How do you manage it? Generally speaking even an idiot can be right half the time! Have you considered taking a course in Logic?

If the minority government result holds, BC Liberal leader Christy Clark may have a hard time keeping her job and Green leader Andrew Weaver will face a difficult choice, says a University of British Columbia political scientist.

“The caucus that Christy Clark will have to work with is dominated by people from the places that used to elect Socreds,” said professor Richard Johnston. “They don’t like Vancouver very much and they probably don’t like her very much, frankly.”

Lieutenant Governor Judith Guichon spoke with Clark this morning and asked her to carry on as premier for the time being.
If the Greens still hold the balance of power after the final results are in, there will be risks to supporting either the BC Liberals or the NDP, Johnston said.

If British Columbians really voted for change, Weaver and the Greens should oust the BC Liberals from power, he said. But to do that, they would have to back the NDP despite its fewer seats.

Horgan said he will work with anyone to make life better for British Columbians and that he and Weaver agree the BC Liberals have failed on several key issues. He said banning corporate and union donations to political parties is his top priority.

Horgan also noted there are 176,000 ballots still to be counted. “The game’s not over.”

Weaver said his number one priority is getting big money out of B.C. politics and that Greens will work with anyone who wants to put forward and pass good public policy. “We’re above the partisan rhetoric,” he said.

But with the results unlikely to be final before May 24, it would be premature to commit to anything, he said.

I'm waiting for you to prove anything I say wrong. In fact, I'm waiting for you to even try proving it wrong. All you do is just say I'm wrong and don't even attempt to explain why.

And sorry, your grand daughter getting a job doesn't prove jobs are increasing in the interior. If you think it does, then you don't have the critical thinking skills required to have the debate.

Go ahead, if you want to be such a pompous ass. Prove that jobs are increasing in the interior.

Let me get you started:

I never said any of that. All I was trying to prove was a normally intelligent, reasonably skilled person with the right attitude can get a job. It's not just ONE grand daughter but two plus my son. So answer this question what do they have that others don't that prevents them from getting jobs. Where did you get the idea that getting a job in the Okanagan is a problem?

How do like the Green consumer economy where everyone works in retail or a restaurant?

That's all you'll have if the Greens or Dippers get into the act!

BC politics has turned into an Us Vs. Them cage match.

Well considering that Vancouver and Vancouver Island are the two most populated areas of B.C. it is a good thing there is lots of work there .

Not many real jobs on the island. Lots of idle rich that don't want to see any industry. Lot's of house construction on the lower island for the newly idle rich and a bunch of low pay part time tourism and rain warehouse jobs. Things dippers like to see.

Biggest problem we have in B.C. Pete is too many people thinking we have to get away from resource based industry to have a liveable environment. They are listening to the wrong people.

Funny thing about these whiners. The same people that complain they can't afford a house in honcouver also don't want any refineries or steel mills that would provide real jobs with good paycheques.

There is no industry (beyond toilet paper) at all.

Just wanting to live in Hongcouver is pretty much a sure sign of diminished mental capacity to begin with! :)

Bit of mining lots of rasin warehouses. Not much ass wipe because conifers do not make the right kind of paper for delicate citiots.

That is absolute bull sh!t. Logging is still happening only they are shipping raw logs out of country. Also, when I came to this province in the 70s everybody could get a job. Then they mechanized everything and put half the people out of work. I laughed at people when Weldwood in Quesnel announced they were putting in 3 million in improvements at the mill. When I said they were going to mechanize and put most of them out of work they laughed. And when the improvements were done, over half of them were laid off. You can't blame that on tree huggers. It has always been about corporate greed and over logging. There really isn't much of easily accessed timber left. That is why most logging today is high lead on steep ground. Even the loggers in the Slocan realized they were logging themselves out of a job and that their children would not have jobs in the industry when they grew up.
