If there was a candidate that perfectly reflected your opinions but was only guaranteed a handful of votes in a distant 6th place would you bother to vote for them?

Going off track a little & in response to the advice that everyone should cast a vote, my response is why! What good does an uninformed vote do anyone? How many people vote a certain way because someone they know (and like) does? So many people vote for someone who is worse than the encumbant just to get rid of the encumbant! What kind of sense is that?

So I take it you don't vote at all?

I must admit not too often for someone I think will end up in 6th place. I think I've voted in every federal and provincial election since I turned 21.

That's a good question! Probably have to go back to the mid 90s when I likely made an uninformed vote for one of the Dippers. :)
You still haven't answered my question!

If Crusty Clump gets in, there will be severe unrest in the woods this summer. Mount Polley, Kinder Morgan, LNG lines and processing plants on indigenous lands. One can only hope.

I'll say one thing for the Dippers, when they were in power I never saw people living on the streets..

I had left to live in Texas, when I return for an operation, people were in doorways of stores, sleeping on the street.

I walked into a 7/11 and purchased a bunch of sandwiches and milks, and went outside and started to hand them out.. I really felt sad to see that in Canada.

Now in Vancouver you see tent cities all over the place..

Maybe, an NDP Gov't is what BC needs right now.. this is not Canada, this looks more like downtown Los Angeles on Main St. by the Union Gospel Mission, along San Julian and San Pedro Streets.

I mean you expect the USA to be a shit hole with homeless all over the place.. not Canada.

When the dippers were in power 50000 people left BC looking for work while the freeloaders moved in encouraged by easy welfare and mild climate.
Offer these "homeless" a job and see how may show up. (Don't plan your day around their labour)

We know you are afraid of work but fact is most people want a good job and these places pay well. THese are the businesses that make the money that pays your welfare and all the social services the freeloaders demand.

I'm still undecided.

Easy decision. Liberal or leave.

As usual i voted for in a highly arbitrary fashion for a party that only partly and probably in a minor fashion supports some principles i embrace.

I voted NDP in part because of its old prairie roots in the CCF; nationalist, populist, dirigiste, progressive in economic policy and formed of ideals of Christian community. The NDP has long lost all contact with much of that, representing a post structural; 'multicultural'; morally relativistic (feminist, homosexual, radically individualistic); and extreme (irrational and anti human) environmental platform.

But I consider the most parasitic force in the West now as that of economic and social liberalism and globalism, so my choices were to limited. I guess i might not have voted at all, but i consider that cop out. I'll vote for change and disorder over the status quo, hoping something constructive will grow from the rubble.

Thankfully in another 8 hours it will all be over (the campaigning that is). The biggest danger facing B.C. right now is that too many disgruntled voters will try to replace something that is not good with something that is worse! :)

While taking my walk this morning down town I encountered a kid with a questionnaire. I'm not sure how bright the guy/gal was who formulated the questionnaire. The exercise was to rate four deavours for the next gov't. 1. The Environment, 2. Job Creation 3. Affordable housing and 4. Health and Education. I found the questionaire a no brainer. Job creation facilitates the other 3. Affordable housing, mitigates health costs. The environment is pretty good at looking after itself as long as we are careful not to harm it. Jobs lead to more taxes which can help fund projects to enhance the environment. Without jobs the other 3 are meaningless. :)
