Ever try the grass fed steaks at whole foods.
Set you back at least 80 bucks for two big Tbones, but man they taste like those 50 cent ones Ma used to make.

There's a restaurant here in Melbourne called the Steer Bar and Grill which has a lot of radio ads on during work.... they're pretty funny in that I imagine they anger a lot of vegans.

With the sound of cows moo'ing in the background, a whip being cracked every so often and some Clint Eastwood Western music playing in the background, the narrator comes on and say something along the lines of, "All of our cows at the Steer Bar and Grill are proud vegetarians...... they also happen to taste delicious.... how's that for irony?"

the baby must have shown consistent deteriation over a period of time, and my gripe with this situation
is the parents not noticeing, or just ignoring signs of illness, lacking in weight gain, and a lack
of energy. baby would not have looked great, then quickly die from this problem.

a baby totally depends on the pArents for survival, this is very disturbing indeed.

maybe these people are totally stupid or mentally challenged, or disturbingly stubborn.

continueing from my first post.

the time between this child looking reasonably healthy and the day she died, is a process. the very
scary thought for me is this, the parents seeing this process take place over time, and doing nothing
about it, that is the criminal part here, doesn't matter if they ate cheese whiz and ding dongs for
months, how can parents watch their child go through the process of dieing, and jut get up every day,
go through the day, then go to bed at night, while their child is deteriorating each day.

yes, stupid, criminal, ignorant, thoughtless, mean, blind, what were they doing all day, drunk out of
their minds, sleeping sickness, paralized, being held back at gunpoint, what were they doing all day.

You got that right, but when they fail to eat meat, fish, poulty, eggs, milk and cheese I'd say it's getting a little lop sided don't you think?

She is a vegan, so no she doesn't.

Sal, I think I owe you a public apology over that "low IQ" remark.

I do not, and never have considered you to be anything but intelligent.

Sorry I insulted you by going off half-cocked.

What kind of quantities of all bran and tofu does one have to eat to get enough vitamin B12? Isn't it simpler just to eat a balanced diet which pretty well takes care of all the concerns? Sure there's exceptions like people who are allergic to peanuts shouldn't eat them, but for the majority doesn't a balanced diet work well?

I only know a couple of full vegans and their reasoning behind not eating anything from an animal is not from the stand point of a better diet, but rather because they want to do NO harm to another living, feeling sentient creature. But that doesn`t mean all vegans think this way.

Are you positive about that? I don't think she is.

So these people don't drive cars either?

Well, here we have a case of a vegan, breast feeding her baby only, and that child dieing of malnutrition. What was the difference between her and the vast majority? She was a vegan, which meant no B12 and no vit A, at least. 5 years was far too little time as far as I'm concerned. As an adult you want to forgo meat and dairy, go for it, but you damn well better not put your child in harms way because of it, as happened here.

I take it she was also not taking vitamin pills? Seems to me a basic means of correcting deficiencies in your diet.

Most people do what they can with what they have in any given situation. One does not need to do everything in order to do what they can.

If we limited the legitimacy of an action based on not doing everythiny possible as decided by others, where would we be?

But pretty much every time you drive a car (with the possible exception of sub zero temperatures) you are killing living, feeling, sentient creatures. Just look at the grill from spring through fall.

We all do what we can with what we have. If the only effort accepted was a full 100% on all aspects we'd have long died out by now.
