Are we (Canadians) really that dirty?

Enviromentalists just like to complain so they can get more donations but they will never come up with a solution because that would hurt their them in donations

Ther just like those TV preachers giving you another heartbreak store so you will send them cash.

Greenpeace more like Green Piece likes to use the media so they bought some boats and they are always trying to head off the whalers so they can get more money.

The last thing these people want is a solution

Its actually a darn good thing that we have dedicated environmentalists who are out there putting a spot light on all sorts of things. Why? Because for the vast majority of Canadians, we are environmentalists. Nobody wants to see garbage piling up, and wilderness become barren waste. But we all have to go to work everyday, therefore these hippies, in a way, represent the green opinions we all have. So you can't say that environmental groups are only in it for the donations, they genuinely do care about protecting the air, water, and land that all Canadians need.

As for whether or not we're dirty. I certainly think so. I'm sure good 'ol towns are different, but in the city, there's trash everywhere. On the sidewalks, in the alleyz, on trails. I bet I could find 10 cigarette butts in 5 minutes.

Statistics and lies. Not much difference. We are an oil exporting nation with a small population and their figures are based on production not usage. As usual the ecoterrorists manipulate the truth to get more donations.

What ecoterrorists? The hippies who rightly so, want to shut down the precious Vancouver Island fishery? Or the the one or two idiots who blew up the gas lines in the interior?

That’s what I am saying is that environmentalists are complainers and don’t offer any solutions.

They are the same ones that are starving the inuits because they eat seal, whale and dolphins.

Environmentalists use the money to have parties and get drunk and smoke pot and they never come up with an answer

Big deal. There are plenty of oil producing nations where you can drink from a puddle and live. Just not this one...Why?

There are cities on this planet bigger than any in canada where you can walk in bare feet, not get sick or cut your feet on broken glass. Why?

Innovation isn't really part of con dialog

I was just try'n to offer some perspective. Like this:

But...well...what do I know, eh? I'm just another dirty Canadian, like you,
and every other Canadian it seems.

After returning from a trip to London UK, the air quality in the city is far better than Toronto. Considering it's size, i was surprised but learned they cleaned up their act in the 80s. Coming home to the garbage strike in the Big Smoke doesn't help.
Be interesting to see if the Green Energy Act will help the so called G8 ranking in the next few years.

If Europe is any indicator probably not. Denmark which makes up 20% of its energy mix with wind has actually had it's Co2 emissions go up. How so? Well when the wind isn't blowing you need to supply energy with something else, they chose to base-load with natural gas, and guess what, so has Ontario. We should be increasing non-emitting power sources like nuclear.

Nuclear is expensive. Long run it's cheap, but start-up costs are insanely high. Check out the price quoted to Ontario:

TheStar.com | Business | $26B cost killed nuclear bid

We could also say, all new homes must be built to the highest energy efficiency standard. Buildings that use less energy means the gap between what renewables can deliver and what the demand is, will shrink.

For $26 Billion, you could probably address efficiency first, and then you wouldn't even need to build a new power plant.
