Are more people becoming "unhinged" today?

Yup. 50 years ago the world's population was about 1.75 billion. Now there's almost 7 billion. Population growth.

That explanation doesn't quite hold water- granted the population has grown but as individuals we probably don't know many more people and when you reach my age you know fewer and fewer every week.:lol::lol:

What some of us term as crazy sometimes is just pure genius and enlightenment that we just can't comprehend.

If you were on the leading edge of evolution would you or the people around you be capable of fully understanding why you think different, act different, are spiritually different and just plain feel different?

It can't be easy riding the front of the bell curve.

So in spite of the population of the world growing exponentially, the number of diseases, disorders, etc. should be shrinking? We don't have information sources about people we don't personally know? What planet are you from?
;)

Good point. :)

Probably no easier than being in the mundane middle or the unenviable end.

Too bad we medicate and humiliate those who are just too far ahead to understand.

Even after taking away their gift we still don't understand them.

Where did I say that? You think I'm stupid?:lol::lol:
You said that the idea of there being more sickos around because there are more people in general around didn't hold water.
So I asked a question. I didn't say you said anything.
BTW, you're still messing quotes up. Quotes work when there is a [ q u o t e ] at one end of a quote and a [ / q u o t e ] at the tail end. Omit one bracket and everything's screwy

Good point. And of course we now give some people labels to explain behaviour. ADD kids in school are an example - fifty years ago they would simply have been called lazy.

Or stupid or brats............:smile::smile::smile:
I think kids with ADD and ADHD are probably geniuses who are bored senseless by a school system that caters to the lowest common denominator. The fidget and fuss and disrupt class because they know they are basically being spoon fed BS. There is nothing there to challenge their minds.

Some are definitely unhinged. My concern is the growing number of unglued.

YOu hit the nail right on the head there Cliff. Not that I was ever any genius but in the early grades in school I caught onto what had to be learnt fairly quickly and then just became a nuisance to the teachers.:lol::lol:

"Unglued isn't too bad- it's the ones who get "glued" these days that are becoming a problem.:lol:

If my teeth don't get glued several times a day, they fall out, so sometime getting glued is a good thing.

only the ones who have no initative. ADHD is only a problem if you let it become one... I made a choice as a kid i never wanted to be in those resource classes and i never wanted to be given extra time to write my exams, i wanted to be treated like the rest.

And 30 years ago they'd have been called hyper. lol

Then my kids, my hubby, and I have ADHD, I guess. Funny though, I don't seem to have a problem focusing for long periods on one thing.

exactly its only the kids with ADHD that want you to feel sorry for them that end up having the problem. "OH i cant do it, OH i try hard but i dont succed, OH life is tough" No **** life is tough, so you gotta harden the **** up
