Check the table. Not everyone pays GST or PST on gas.

Theyd make more with Rakuten.
Sigh. they ALL pay gst on the FEDERAL carbon tax. With the possible exception of quebec, i have no idea what's going on there.

Here's some more, straight from the feds. In this article they explain why it's justified that everyone pay GST on the tax. :

Sorry - they do collect gst on carbon taxes AND they do make billions on it at this point. And businesses pay that as well - which means that the consumer has to bear that additional cost.

This isn't up for debate - GST is charged on carbon tax, period. Sorry if you misread the 'gas buddy' source - my sources are the federal gov't that impose the tax.

So when you posted the link 'Gas buddy' to talk about carbon tax.... you weren't talking about gas at all. I mean - that was YOUR link, you actually linked to Gas Buddy claiming it shows we don't pay carbon tax on gas. And you claim we weren't taking about gas? Also - my post didn't mention gas it mentioned the carbon tax. Which does apply to gas, but to a lot of other things as well. And on all of them - we're paying gst.

Why are you like this? It's like every now and then you just snap into full retard mode. Your position is idiotic, we obviously pay gst on carbon taxes including gas (and yes - we WERE talking about gas actually) and thats just a simple fact. Arguing otherwise makes you look like a child.

Grow up. We absolutely pay gst on the carbon tax, including gasoline, and yes we were in fact discussing gasoline as well. Yeash.

Sigh. When you quoted Taxslave and my reply to him was carbon tax the fucking topic?
Sigh - it certainly was when you posted the gas buddy link kiddo.

You'd think you'd get tired of looking this foolish.

Whatever. I'm done arguing with you about this, it's like arguing with a 4 year old. Please, feel free to continue to claim that we don't pay GST on carbon tax, it's like a little admission to everyone that you're slightly less in touch with reality than Putin is

In 2023, Canadians will be paying not one, but two federally imposed carbon taxes as they struggle to cope with inflation and higher interest rates.

On April 1, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s national minimum carbon price will increase by 30% to $65 per tonne of greenhouse gas emissions, up from the current $50 per tonne.

Starting in 2023, the carbon price will increase by $15 per year, instead of the previous $10 per year, reaching $170 per tonne in 2030.

Even with carbon tax rebates in the four provinces that receive them — Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba — 60% of families will pay hundreds of dollars more in carbon taxes than they receive in rebates in 2023, according to the parliamentary budget officer.

Starting in 2023, for the first time, Canadians will pay a SECOND carbon tax called the clean fuel standard to lower the carbon intensity of oil and diesel fuel.

The government also says this will increase energy poverty and disproportionately impact low-and-middle income earners, seniors on fixed incomes, single mothers, Canadians in rural Canada and Atlantic Canada, as well as oil and gas sector workers.

The Trudeau government, which failed to meet its 2020 target for reducing emissions, says this new carbon tax is needed to help meet its 2030 target.
What a bunch of crock!!

The poor don't pay GST either. As best I can tell some of them make money off the GST rebate.
Of course the poor pay GST. Why wouldn't they? They may receive the GST rebate but they do pay initially. Why wouldn't they? How would they avoid paying it? Stores automatically include it in every purchase that is GST with the exception of items that are exempt from the tax and gas isn't one of them.

I think what he is saying is that they get rebated more than they have put in. Up until now, I have paid in and never qualified for a rebate. I retired this year, my income with pension etc is about 1/2 what it was. Shall see if I qualify now.

A prime example of why businesses should not have to pay any tax. It simply gets passed on to consumers. Another thing fiscally deficient socialists don't want to know about.
