We must call the El Paso shooting what it is: Trump-inspired terrorism

Last year, when a rabid, anti-immigrant antisemite murdered 11 people in a Pittsburgh synagogue, I called it an act of domestic terrorism inspired by the ideology of Trumpism. The shooting took place during the height of the 2018 midterm campaign when Trump was inciting fear of an immigrant “caravan” from Central America. The shooter got the message. Hours before his bloody rampage, he accused a Jewish refugee support agency of bringing “invaders in that kill our people. Saturday in El Paso it was deja vu all over again.
Trump has launched his 2020 re-election campaign this summer by doubling down on the theme of racial and ethnic division and anti-immigrant hysteria. And as sure as the sun rises in the east, a mere month into this racially charged atmosphere, an extremist suspect fearful of Hispanics gaining political power in Texas decided to go kill as many Hispanics as possible at an El Paso Walmart. It is Trump-inspired terrorism yet again.
The president’s defenders have taken great offense to the notion that any of his actions or rhetoric have contributed to what happened in El Paso, but this defense is deeply flawed.
First, the assertion that Trump can be absolved of responsibility because he condemns violence by white supremacists reflects a misunderstanding of how homegrown domestic terrorism works.

Not worth it......probably not intelligible even in human speak.

Trump plans visits to El Paso and Dayton, where he wont be universally welcome
Several Democrats have asked the president to stay away from the Texas border community as it grieves those lost in a weekend mass shooting. In Dayton, Ohio, the mayor encouraged people to protest the president's planned visit.

With any luck.....this might be one of the defining moments of Trumps failures at POTUS.............which has been building up through his horrible langauge.......which is not fitting for some backward society , let alone POTUS........His cruelty is astounding.......and has no place in the white house.

whatever he says......will be meaningless, empty, insincere, and self centred.......as his motives for going are highly questionable.

Google and Amazon have been listing gun accessories for sale, in apparent violation of their own
policies

As recently as Monday, within days of three mass shootings that have shaken the nation, the companies were offering rifle magazines for sale on their sites, including models with a capacity to hold 25 or more bullets. The availability of the goods, some of which Google and Amazon removed after being contacted by The Washington Post, speaks to the limitations of the companies algorithms to keep even prohibited items off two of the biggest online shopping platforms.

Being a female is just part of it......Their system is not controlled by the NRA.....and other special groups Plus NZ is not as fanatical about guns. Not sure there is another nation that is as crazy about guns. or "justifies" their ownership and usage to the degree the US does. The US is ultra extreme and the situation is out of control. No one is speaking about that ......and the conversation continue to remain on a circular nonsensical level.New Zealanders have a lot more good sense abut serious matters than the US. The US is living out a fantasy war game.......on a continuous level......not realizing that real people are getting hurt for real. When folks are hurt.....they all act shocked.
