Attacker alive to. No one deserves death over a burglary. I respect life.

Ideologues.......bah!
I'd tell the attacker about my constitutional rights, then calmly take him to the ground ensuring he doesn't hurt his head or bruise a knee.

Then we'd talk about God, forgiveness, even the environment.

If it was a female burglar I would have her perform a pregnancy test to ensure her fetus is fully protected.

It might come down to that whole "Force of a reasonable man" thing, where the
home owner might be accused of using more than the minimum force...'cuz his
wounds where only minor?
Man, if you are in knife fight, I don't think you count wounds until one is down. Same with a gun fight. But I don't think I would have left the attacker wounded. The home owner has left himself open to a law suit.
